Harry Potter fans?

Anyone here a real Harry Potter fan?

I am reading the most wonderful blog done chapter-by-chapter by a fellow who is reading the HP books for the very first time. Hasn't seen the movies, doesn't know the story. So he reads a chapter and then blogs. And then watches the movie with comments, plus comments by his followers.

He's quite profane, but hysterically funny. He previously gave this same treatment to the Twilight books, which he hated. But he is completely in love with HP and his world.

I can't tell you how much I enjoy this. The blog is in some backwards order, and hard to navigate, so you are probably best off to google "Mark reads Harry Potter" and adding the name of the book. The first book isn't in the same blog as the rest of them.

This fellow captures a lot of the thoughts we all had at first when we picked up these books.

Adult content, but really truly funny.

I went to the Border's party last night as well. The Ann Arbor Art Fair was in full swing right in the middle of everything so there were tons of folks in the store as well as witches of all sizes up and down the streets. I saw many people & noticed that the scar they paint on the forehead is in a different position that previous years. Now it is off to the right side, & colored light brown, no longer that deep black in the middle of the forehead...interesting, I noticed that Harry's scar in the movie is now more off to the side & lighter in color as well. I did not get the book last night but will try to hunt it down today w/ the kids. Fun! Happy reading Betty

Four stars for Nancy and Bobbie. Yes, the link, probably intentional, is that Prof. Trelawney inherited the curse from her great-grandmother Cassandra Trelawney who must have been descended (fiction, remember) from the original Cassandra. She was cursed by Apollo when she did not return his affections-her gift of seeing was not taken away, but he cursed her so that no one would ever believe her predictions. That became a huge problem for the Trojans when they discounted her warnings about that giant horse outside the gates to the city. Hehheh. Anyway, despite being a bit of a fraud, Prof. Trelawney's predictions, like those of Cassandra, are never given any credence. Must have been frustrating. Thanks for playing. Hope you have a fun week. Welcome Starina! I live in Greece. My favorite place to buy hostas is Sara's in Brockport, which is where I got Dragon Fire. My other favorite place is Wayside Garden Center in Palmyra (not affiliated with Wayside catalog or on-line). This is a 54 mile round trip from my house, but worth it! Their selection seemed better last year. They tend to be a bit less expensive than Sara', but no one can beat Sara's for selection. I also have found unusual varieties at Green Acre, Van Putte and Green Acre, but they have way less of a selection. I also find nice deals at Garden Factory sometimes...if not, then I make a right onto Buffalo road, and another right onto rt 531...and then stop at Sara's! Happy shopping!

This is said to be the biggest seller at the new Wizard World in Orlando. Everyone seems to love it, and it does indeed sound like fun. I'd probably use diet cream soda to avoid so much pure sugar shock, tho.

You know what, I'm a big HP fan. I read the beginning of Mark's blog and found it funny in a goofy way.

The vulgarity doesn't bother me, but thanks for the warning.

It's VERY funny and creative. But adult. As he progresses, he reflects a lot on his own childhood and experiences, and it is quite effective, and he mulls the themes that Rowling brings into the story. But he's reading for everyone, and it's what you were thinking the first time you read the books. But Mark is a lot more creative than I could ever be.

I read the Twilight ones (or part of them anyway). Yes, he skewers them in a wonderful way .

Mark is my new hero. I adore him so much that I actually signed up on Twitter just to follow him. Serious, I love this guy. DON'T JUDGE ME. ;-)

I enjoyed the books and would love to read them again, but the kids kind of scattered them. I need to buy myself a copy of them, but haven't had the extra money yet.
I really wish Rowlings would put them out as e-Books, but it looks like she is opposed to the idea and it won't be happening.
He really has interesting viewpoints and I will enjoy reading through his blog.
