Civil War Photo of Nicolas Cage?

The likeness is amazing. The funniest thing is that people in the comments point out the different ears as if they need evidence that it isn't him! Hmmm, maybe Nick had his ears pinned back....

Evidently it's supposed to be proof that he is an immortal vampire -- and the eBay seller is asking a fortune for it.

I think that people are pointing out that it's not him not because they are arguing about vampires, but because they are trying to show it is a Photoshop fake, which it does sort of look like: the center of the face looks just like Cage, but not so much features on the perimeter (ears and chin), and the face doesn't appear to be quite straight on the head.

If you click on the link in my post above, Nev, doesn't it say at the top of the page: "This page is in Romanian. Translate it using Google Toolbar"? Maybe it's just me. Time to double up on my meds, LOL. At any rate, I decided to try their "translation", just to see what they would come up with. Most things remained the same, a few species names got capitalized and some words ending in A got anglicized, e.g. A. ramosa var. Festiva became A. ramos var. Festive, etc. A few other interesting changes: A. wide (A. alopecurus), A. comatose (A. comata), A. thumbnails (A. miniata), Aechmea's eagle (A. moorei), A. Trough (A. Covata), A. Fulgo-eagle (A. Fulgo-fasciata), A. Still (A. Inca), A. Mini-horse (A. Mini-cal), A. Land (A. Terena). Yeah, I'm easily amused, but it does seem like the Romanians have a lot of words for eagle. ;-)

Hi V, I amm just so happy to see those beautiful pictures.. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh... makes me wish i had a glass of cold Iced Tea and sitting on a front porch talking to good friends... like you!!! Your pictures remind me of VB like LagoMar said. Lots of change taking place up your way and i believe, like here in VB you will witness this push in zone changes and seeing these Palms, tropicals make there way more so up n your area. I remember planting my trees 17 yrs or so ago and people thinking i was nuts.. well... look at all the changes now. VB is planting Palms in the shopping area and i must say they look great..(Hilltop) Thank you so much for taking the time to show us your beautiful "quiet" places around your area. I just love the feel of it. "Reminds me of the low country Now you have me itching to show pics again here.. My trees are the same, so that is why i haven't posted much here.. and that is what can severely injure the dude who chainsaws it down some day ... but there is nothing you can do about it now ... without basically killing the tree ... the same.. at about 3 to 4 feet... would be barbed wire ... most often seen.. when you notice a perfect line of trees .... what would have been called.. a hedge row/fence line planting back 100 years ago or so ... ken

If that's the reason it's not a good one, because Photoshop could just as well supply better-matched ears.

I can't tell for sure, of course, but I think it's not Photoshopped.

My son looks a lot like Nicholas Cage, but better looking IMHO. I always kind of look twice when I see pictures of Cage. Maybe that is some long lost relative. My son looks like his father, so I guess it would be that side of the family. Pretty amazing resemblance.

Actually, and it's weird I know this, his website, Thanatos (Greek for death), is one that displays post mortem portraiture from the Victorian Era. He's been collecting those daguerreotypes for a long time. No doubt he came across it, and the chances are high it's real since he's come in contact with so many cartes. I wouldn't doubt it was real.

Uncanny resemblance. But then, I've always thought there was a distinctive look to Mr. Cage.
