Recently came into possession of a bedroom set containing a 9-drawer dresser, highboy, 5' wide mirror, 2 end tables and a queen-sized bedframe with head and footboard. It's in a French Provincial style. On the back of some of the pieces, it notes "Gold Bisque" and "Cartier Collection." Inside the drawers, the manufacturer is Paoletti Period Furniture of Orange, NJ. Amazingly, I can't find anything out about it through Google. Has anyone who frequents this forum heard of this company? The furniture is well-made and I'm trying to learn more about its provenance. All info will be appreciated. Thanks!

I didn't do IB, but I did probably a dozen AP classes and I was admitted to a top 10 university in the Chicago area. I graduated in 3 years by working very hard and taking the maximum course load available. It didn't make an ounce of difference in where I am today, which is a completely different career path after a decade of work in my "degree" field. I was an analyst for 10 years, and felt burnt out. Now I'm working towards becoming a teacher for young children. My husband went to MIT and feels the same as I do. We both think we would have had the same level of success/personal accomplishment at any decent school. There was really no need to work so hard. I had peers in college who committed suicide from the pressure they put on themselves. Such a waste, and such a shame that they couldn't see the different options available. I distinctly remember those days, and the stress and pressure I put on myself. If I could do it again knowing what I know now, I would have chosen a different path. Others may be different. Some people thrive on pressure and challenges, and rise to the occasion, but that's not my personality. I am very prone to anxiety and it's not a good combination for me. I still have dreams where I forgot to do my homework, or I have a final that I forgot to study for, or I can't find the classroom to take it, and I wake up in a sweat, lol. So, short answer: It just depends! There's no right or wrong answer. Just keep an eye on her for signs of burn out or depression.

The tiny bit of thc in those cbd drops they sell absolutely will not make you high, not even one tiny little bit! OTOH, if you can buy medical marijuana, it will get you just as high as when you smoked pot as a teenager, no difference at all! They recently approved the cannabis(edit to say HEMP)/cbd here for sales so we tried it, it has all the nasty taste and all the nasty smell of smoking a doob without any of the fun...HAHA! I compare it to drinking an O'doul's beer. It tastes like it and it smells like it but it ain't it! HA! In our state, there are some conditions that can buy the medical marijuana if you have an RX, pain is one condition. There are very few places that sell it. So far, recreational marijuana has been voted out...people are working on it but so far it's a no go. Personally I can see no reason why not, if a person can legally drink alcohol then how is MJ any different? ADDED: The names make it confusing even to me and I have investigated this since my husband has arthritis pain and was going to try using it. I get cannabis and hemp mixed up. OK so hemp is what they sell to anyone here in Ohio, I guess maybe you have to be of a certain age, it does not make you in the least bit high or anything from what I can tell. We bought a couple of those hemp cigs to try and found it to be useless. I guess "cannabis" is what they say when they mean what I think of as marijuana. Sorry I have no experience with the gummies. I have a friend that uses med. marijuana for back pain and doesn't make her anything but stoned. Bad thing is that you cannot use something like that if you have to drive or go to work because it absolutely does make you high if you smoke it.
