I'm an Uncle again!

After a few bumps in the road the last couple of weeks and this past weekend Allye Grace was born into the world today via C-section. She is a few weeks early but healthy and doing fine as is Mom, my DS Debi.

Just an hour old here.

A little yawn after clean up and in Mom's arms. DS made us crop her out of the pic for public posting....LOL....here hair and makeup weren't perfect!

She is number fifteen for our family and holds the record for the smallest baby weighing in at 6lbs. 2oz., 17 inches in length. All of her cousins came in at 8.5 plus with Justin still holding the record at 10.8lbs. We are known for big babies in our family.

Off to try to catch up around here once again....life has been crazy busy here and it just won't stop. : )

She is an absolutely beautiful baby! And it's funny because you can't often tell, but she looks JUST like a baby girl. There is no way she would be mistaken for a baby boy. David, congratulations! Your new little family addition is precious. Lucky Uncle David!
Give her kisses and hugs and wish your DS well. Tell her I said she makes great babies.

Leaning toward Murphy, and I love Finlay (actually he's a bit more of a Finney, I'll have to look and see what that means), but Reuben, Gabe and Leo are still in the running. Sorry, we have a Bailey in the family, also an April, Abby, Tommy, Ki (Kiowa), Bart, Gus, Henry, Babe, Chase, Chance, Jake, Marley, Max, Hannah and last but not least, Thud. (close friends and family). And I have had a Boomer, Brie, Rhett, Peach and Grace, may they all be happy in the big field in the everafter. This little guy will have a name by the end of the weekend, though he responds pretty promptly to "puppy! puppy! puppy! come!". Thanks all, I'm in heaven :) Keep those names comin' Sarah

Oh, I think I may have accosted the same guy and accused him of being Bobthewizard! He must have really wondered why people were calling him Bob? LOL. It sure would have been great to have met up with some of you! I looked for you Lynn! It was a great time watching everyone grabbing plants. I nearly stole a Queen Amber from some poor guy who was actually in line! He had so many plants around him I thought it was a display! LOL sorry to the guy in line:). Hum....I know who stole my Tesla Girl! Lnorigb...LOL. Great find I love that one! Queen Amber was really popular and I think gone 40 minutes into the open house! It is so much better in person, the photos I've seen just dont do it justice! Luckily, I snagged one! No, not from the guy in line:) So sorry to have missed y'all. But you know how it goes, the open house is like a feeding frenzy and once you get zeroed in on the plants the rest of the world fades away! I agree with lnorigb we need to get organized! :) Nicole

Congratulations! Bailey Rose is completely adorable and your story made me tear up a bit -- we have a cat we adopted as an adult and he has an eating disorder now from his time on the street--he will eat and eat and eat until you take it away from him, and it's been *6* years since we took him in. Poor dear : ( I'm a sucker for dog and cat yawns, for some reason : ) And WOW, I didn't know what a catahoula was, so I googled it and yes, I agree with Linda - catahoula sure does look like a serious possibility for some of that mix. Very cool, or should I say very catahoul : )

Bumblebeez, Bonnie (the dog) is not allowed on the bed and doesn't sleep there. But her attitude toward life is it's SO exciting and it's all about play, so every once in a while she jumps up and does two or three high-speed roughshod circles on the bed and jumps back down. That's her idea of a good time. The problem is when she did it the other day she'd just come in from outside. Oakley, it's a silk-filled duvet (a huge splurge for me) inside a new white cotton Battenberg duvet cover. It (and flannel sheets) is the only cover my bed needs in the winter. The new duvet cover takes my breath away, it's so pretty -- but not so neat with dirty dog footprints on it. Ttodd, I do the same soap recipe as you, except I used Fels Naptha instead of Ivory. I still feel the need to use Tide every few wash loads, as it does the best job. Still, as you point out, the homemade saves a ton of money. I got the recipe off the web. Bonnie is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. I used to breed and show SCWTs, but my line was calm. Bonnie is a high-speed wackadoodle who charges through life without thinking. I love her, but I often wish she had a turn down switch. She is young, but I have the feeling she won't change until arthritis forces change on her. OTOH, it does my heart good to see how good she feels and how much she loves life. Vivian, great picture! So cute. It's not her hair, and she doesn't shed. It's her muddy little feet that did in the duvet. We live where it rains 9 months of the year. I guess I could wash and dry her feet at the door every time she comes back in from outside. But seriously, that sounds too much like work. I've lived by -- and have given -- Magnaverde's advice forever. My living room is dog proof. But I've also wanted a white bed. I thought I'd give it a try. I think my decorating mistake may be that the white should be in the walls, not on the bed. The cover is washable, but it's a hassle to get the duvet in and out of it. Franksmom, what's your floor cleaner recipe, please? Alisonn, what fabric is your slip cover? Ten years is a lot of washes! I'm with you I would not buy a white sofa. The more I think about it the more I think a hall runner might be the answer, as it would take a lot of the dirt off the feet of all three of my dogs. Ya think?

she's beautiful!!!! Hard on Mommy but c-section babies look so un-scathed! LOL! No red marks flat nose or cone head.
6-2? That's what my 5 days over term grand daughter weighed! LOL! You grow 'em big!

Oh, David, she's just perfectly beautiful, with such a sweet little mouth. She's just about the size Makayla was when she was born, they seem so tiny and grow so quickly.

Congratulations to your DS Debi and all of your family. I had both my girls by C-Section and so tell Debi I sympathize!

Kiss that new baby for me too.

I came back to look at her again - she really is GORGEOUS - I think she looks like Angelina Jolie. You'll need to keep us up to date with pictures, Unca David.

Sherry, they all look the same to me too when they are first born but she sure does look like a little girl for sure. Linda, we have had lots of cone heads and squished noses over the years...LOL! Allye was our first c-section baby..big difference for sure. Annie, she is a little sore but manage to do payroll today on her laptop...the joys of beinging self employed. Sharon, I can't believe it's been over a year since y'all were here...we still talk about that night too. The car and your cool canadian accent!

Allye had a little challenge with eating at first but as of today she has joined her family with being a foodie and is taking her bottles with no challenges at all. Looks like they will be headed home tomorrow as it stands now.

I'm not even going to tell y'all how old I'll be when she graduates high school. Yikes! LOL!

Just wanted to say thanks again to the last few posts. Another busy past weekend here. Allye had her first doc appointment yesterday and all is good. She gained the 4oz. back and couple of more that she lost after birth. She is a tiny little thing for sure compared to her cousins at the same age.
