So lucky that there were no casualties, Maria. Isn't it just amazing the damage that a storm can do? I remember when I was a kid, seeing the damage done by one of the worst tornados to ever hit our area. Hard to comprehend.

It has been a weird weather pattern here, too. Storms nearly every day for the past 4-6 weeks. There were tornado warnings again tonight. A tornado devastated a small town in central MN last week, three were killed.

It can stop raining any time, now....

We got the storms last night that were heading to Linda Canoe....dipped down and dropped another 2 inches of rain, blew a lot and took out our power....

Maria, glad to see all are ok. We have had more than our share in the last week. Tornado sirens have goneoff twice in the last seven days. No one remembers when they last went off in Chicago. First one last Friday in my nieghborhood with trees down and power outages, while I was driving home. When one large branch came down in front of me and then blew across the road, I pulled over and road it out in the cooler of a pizza joint.

Wednesday we got nailed while I was shopping at Costco. No damamge by me other than no power at Costco but what a lightning show. The tornado hit on the south side of the city.

And now they are saying we can get more this afternoon. I keep watching the rador to see what LindaC is getting because I know I am next.

Glad to hear the damage was no worse than that is CT. The weather has been wild lately. We had an enormous storm come through on Thursday evening. Lots of trees down across roads and on houses as well as power out. Since them it has been stinking hot. I feel sorry for anyone who has no power, which means no AC.

The Phillies were playing when the storm came through and had to chase the tarp before it got away. When Mother Nature flexes her muscle, watch out!

Maria, I'm sure glad that there was just property damage, no fatalities or injuries. Tornadoes can be deadly.

We had that wave of 8 tornadoes just a couple of weeks ago, Ohio and Michigan got hit and 7 people died, millions of dollars in damage throughout the area. There is some wild weather going on this year, that's for sure.

Oh yeah, the weather is CRAZY. I think tornado alley has moved north and east this year...

A tornado in Connecticut?! Wow, I didn't think that ever happened there. I too am glad nothing worse happened to people, but property damage can be pretty major for those hit by it.

Linda, please send that rain to my yard! We had so much rain over the winter, then all the sudden it just dried up. We haven't had more than a trace of rain for the past couple months.

We had a lot of damage here in Stratford in the south end on Long Island Sound - mostly trees and wires down. Damage to homes and cars...Bridgeport really took a hit...windows blew out, some buildings collapsed and roof tops were lying in the streets...again no one died (Bridgeport has a population of about 140,000 but many more commute in for work)...

I'm doing great Ded, thanks for asking! I recently had some projects finished, rooms are freshly painted, sun room is finally finished and had the second floor hardwood floors sanded and refinished. I'm coming up on the 4th anniversary and have to say that I am moving on with my life. Still seeing the picky-eater too! My parents moved to Venice FL where they are busy cooking for old and new friends and introducing them to Sicilian Soul Food. Other than that - I work work work....hope all is well with you! -maria
