Hello everyone. Looking for some opinions please! I am going to meet my new boyfriend's parents for the first time on Sunday. They are having a cookout, and it's a combination 89th birthday party for his grandmother and meet me. Just wondering if I should bring a gift (or food) since they are hosting. I asked him if I should make anything and he said I could if I wanted to but that it wasn't necessary (a lot of help huh?). Not even sure what the menu is going to be... he's probably going to grill a couple kinds of meat at their house and they are going to have cake and ice cream for granny's birthday (so making a dessert is out of the question). I asked if they were going to have any sides and he doesn't know yet, so I'm thinking if I bring something it should be non-food. I've never met a guys parents before, the guys I've dated in the past have all been closeted so this is a new experience for me. What do you think is appropriate?

Thanks :o)
