Daniel and Captain Dan are currently sailing down the coast of Mexico. They are about to leave Cabos San Lucas. I thought I'd share his blog to date.

What a great experience for a young man. Isn't blogging a wonderful way to nowadays keep a journal with photos.

ok, so this disease would act like this if it was on a tv show. There would be a domestic disturbance at a house, no violence, just a loud argument. So instead of calling the local policeman who would calmly taught these people down, the swat team is called in plus the FBI with helicopters, tons of cop cars, swat team wagons. The streets get blocked off, neighbors are evacuated. Normal life is suspended while the law enforcement - the white blood cells - totally over react and actually cause much more problems than healing. Then someone with common sense finally shows up and clears out the FBI and swat teams and calmly talks the couple down suggesting they take a romantic weekend vacation. The neighbors can come back home. Life returns to normal. These actions would be like what the new drugs would accomplish. Poor Daniel, swat teams are attacking his colon. No wonder he was in such pain. I hope he gets much better soon.

Three!!!!! I am so thrilled you responded to this thread. How are YOU? Daniel is eating most everything. He is on some very powerful medicine to keep his disease at bay but it seems to be working well for him. So far his tests have been great. His veggie garden is really funny. He knew nothing in the beginning and his garden reflects it. His plants are planted way too close and he planted plants that generally aren't planted together- but it's a first garden - grown more out of his understanding of the need of survival than of companionship. We're gently helping him refine his technique while loving his effort, which is getting B grades, maybe more for effort than anything else. There's Jack in the Pulpits planted with squash, which means you have to look pretty close to see everything... His garden is almost an exact mirror of his life experience. LOL! Still, the effort is there and nothing has died. Please tell us how you are!

Hearing of his death made me very sad and I send my condolences to his family ..He was truly the hero and dedicated servant that chisue said....Our politicians local and national should take a cue from him.......He lived the life that most political figures should try to use as a guide to being a great public servant... RIP

His writing skills have really come along from the first few posts months ago. He has a lot of time to read as well and that also contributes to better writing. I am very proud.

Eileen, I'm glad he's finally "on his way", I know it was in doubt for a while.

Not only the writing but the pictures are just getting better and better, I'll be following him along too!

I love reading his blog! He is such a handsome young man of many talents.

I think of all he will learn from this journey...things most young people will never experience. You should be very very proud.
