Lars, I think you look fine and the fellow in the background is too skinny. I never thought I would be this heavy.. How many times have I said that to myself and anyone who would listen.

Don't beat yourself up over a few pounds. Just stay healthy.

Thanks for the comments. I do want to lose a few pounds to make it easier to climb the rocks. Richard was crawling all over the rocks, but I had too much weight to lift. I do remember hiking climbing being easier when I was lighter, although even then I was never the best hiker or climber. I was thin when Kevin and I first went into Ubehebe Crater, and I had a bit of a time climbing out of it. This year I stayed on the rim. I'll try to post a collection of photos from our Death Valley trip soon. The videos are probably better, and so I'll see if Kevin has put any of them on YouTube. We mounted the GoPro camera to the side mirror of the pickup, and it took great videos there. Kevin stopped the camera just before the scariest part of our trip over Hunter Mountain - the part where he refused to drive any more because he had lost his nerve. Oh well. We got some good video through Titus Canyon between Rhyolite and Scotty's Castle, where we visited a ghost town called Leadfield.

Gina, they definitely allow dogs - on leashes, of course. What I found annoying was all the teenage couples making out on the most prominent rocks so that the most people possible would see them. People were extremely exhibitionist with their affections, and they made themselves look extremely cheap and vulgar. Or course the outfits they were wearing only enhanced that effect.

Kevin's YouTube name is kmaedgen, I believe, and so you can probably find them from that. I cannot visit YouTube from this computer. I will check when I get home. I might want to edit some of them myself, but who has time?

Lars, I agree, you look fine, just as handsome as ever. AS long as you feel good and your health is good, that's what's important.

If you think you will feel better, be healthier or more able to do things you love a bit lighter, that's different, but if you think you're not attractive, that's not true.

I'm going to go to You tube and see if I can find videos, although I'm not so good at finding what I'm looking for and I find lots of stuff I never dreamed existed.

It's odd, people now seem much more openly affectionate in public, we used to find private places when I was that age. Of course, my parents would have kicked my butt if anyone told them I was making out in public, LOL.

Good gravy, Lars..you do NOT look heavy! You look great! Your friend looks okay to me with those baggy pants and that sweatshirt...but if I saw him in a t-shirt and shorts, I dare say 120 lbs would look way too thin. Besides...if one is too skinny, one's face looks too aged! :) But, I hear you from the cardio point of view. I'm thin and look "fit," but I'm not anymore. I really need to get back into something more aerobic. I feel rather sloth-like at times.

You're right M24K, Richard's face does look very aged, and he has deep vertical lines in his cheeks that I do not have. In fact, I have almost no wrinkles at all, except in my neck, and one of those hides my parathyroid scar, which no one can ever find.

I forgot to warn that the Death Val Videos are a bit boring, and I don't think there is a way to fast forward through them. I'll try to do a better job of editing when I do the Titus Canyon video - Kevin often leaves too much in, although the 2001 video has some good dialog between him and me in it. It made me laugh to hear some of the things I said although I was not trying to be funny at the time.
