Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Oh Claire I am so sorry to hear this. I just was about to post on your other thread.

It is so darn hard to loose our fur babies, they love us unconditionally and ask for so little in return.

Yes she has passed over the Rainbow bridge and is romping with so many other wonderful friends that have left us.

Take care and hugs to you...David make sure you give extra hugs from all of us when you meet up with Claire.

My heart is aching for you too and I'm typing through tears. It is so hard to lose our furry babies. I hope the thought of other CF pets that have gone before her will ease her journey and yours through this difficult time.

Each time we have lost a beloved pet we have been blessed with another one to share our hearts and we have loved them all.

I've not even opened this thread for the same reason that I donated marley and me dvd to the library this AM...but I am sorry that I took so long to convey my sympathy.....it breaks my heart - and I'm so sorry for your loss....

They are still on the road.

Yes, still traveling until the end of the month. We ''donated'' Luna's tent and food to the vet clinic, as they said they could easily find someone who could use them. It was too hard to take those things along. Like all of you, they were very kind. I'm not looking forward to dealing with her crate when we get home. She really loved her crate, and would go in to nap several times a day.

I feel like a total dishrag.
