So do you Twitter?

I don't understand the difference between the Twitter connection on Facebook and the actual Twitter site. But I did register, not to actually Twitter my self but to read some of the stuff from favorite food writers. It's fun but I don't really "get" it, probably because I don't link to my cell phone, which I only turn on when leaving the house.

Since I don't even know what the heck that means, I guess the answer is no. LOL

I am so technologically disadvantaged ... *sigh* which is probably a good thing, considering how much time I spend on the computer already. My husband says I'm married to my laptop instead of him. LOL

An average loam soil will have 4000 pounds of nitrogen, 4000 pounds of phosphorous, and 20,000 pounds of potassium per acre in the top eight inches most of it in forms that are unavailable to plants. Many minerals present in the soil are most available to plants if the soil pH is neutral to very slightly acid. Soil in my region is neutral. We do not run fertilizer through the irrigation system. If your irrigation water is alkaline, you will have to adjust it to increase soil fertility. Your county ag agent is your best source for information. We use organic mulches and green manure crops for soil fertility. We do use bone meal at planting time on our large dahlia crop. But, hey, I think we need to use alfalfa like LizaLily because we want 100 blooms per day on our Chilsean's Pride dahlia. In correcting deficiencies of minor elements, it is important to realize that the difference between a therapeutic dose and a toxic dose is pretty small for some of the nutrients. Essentially, what we use here in the Great Lakes Region is probably going to have no bearing on what someone uses in your area. Talk to growers in your area and your ag agent. We have received valuable information from both.

I have about 6 or 7 flats started and mostly doing well. I have 28 tomato plants just put into separate pots (3 varieties: Black Krim, Iidi and Padova). Also, there are 3 flats of coleus, one flat with cuttings from last year's favourites and the other 2 with new seedlings. I'm trying for ones with a lot of yellow in the leaves but not having much luck. But I do have one rather small and weak one with almost completely black leaves. Probably the colour is why it's not growing very fast (not enough chlorophyl),but it seems healthy. I also have lots of baby primulas of 3 kinds. Two sets are in the cold frame as they are from last year, and the others are auriculas from this year. I got the seeds from France and had quite poor germination so I'm watching the plants I did get really closely. For unusuals, I have seedlings of things I collected in parks and nurseries locally. They didn't care if I collected seeds, so I went wild! Now I have red yuccas, pineapple lilies, phormiums, pearly whites (a local wildflower) and eryngium agavafolium.I also have 3 different kinds of penstemons, but while growing, they're very slow and tiny. Let's hope at least some of them survive!

A nice "take with you to the garden" journal consists of using a recipe box (I prefer the 5"x8" size) and use two types of dividers (Alphabetical A-Z and Monthly Jan-Dec). I then file a card for each plant/tree/shrub by name of plant and also include plant detail/care/other information, where/when/price purchased, and where planted in the alabetical section. I also can place a photo protected by clear tape on the back of the card. In the monthly section, I file general cards noting "TO DO'S" that I would like to accomplish that month so I don't forget seasonal needs (fertilize, prune, etc). One could also add additional sets of alphabetal A-Z dividers in possibly different colors to use to further divide different groups (annuals, perennials, trees/shrubs, etc). You can also use the monthly section for other monthly reminders you may want to remember (birthdays, anniversaries, or special "to do" reminders). Hope this is helpful - Works for me!

Twitter is little 140 character bits people everwhere post. It's the little box at the top of Facebook that people post what they are doing. But there's a site where you can follow famous names twitters.

I believe the verb is to "Tweet", Twitter is the site. LOL! And no, I haven't signed up for Twitter yet, I am already spending a LOT of time of FB so I have to have a little self-control LOLOLOL!

Yeah, between Facebook, email, cell phones and gawd-knows-what-else, I have all the information I need about everyone under the sun. No tweeting for me.

Twitter is not facebook...it's different....is't sort of like a mass email that can be recieved on your computer or as a text message....not the same as facebook nor ICQ nor IM nor Skype....but a thing of it's own.
I don't tweet and only read texts, and I don't know how to download pictures I have taken with my phone to my facebook acct.

Heck, I don't even know how to text with the cell phone, I've not even resigned myself to charging the darned thing most times.

I did get one text, once, but I couldn't figure out how to open it or read it, so I just deleted it. I couldn't even figure out who it was from, and no one has ever sent me another one, LOL. I haven't decided to learn how to use the camera on my phone yet either. Eh. I just don't care enough.

So, do I tweet? Or twitter? Nope.

Definitely not. I do use Facebook quite a bit, and that is annoying enough. I don't text on my cell phone either, especially since I have not paid for that service. I didn't know that there was a twitter connection on Facebook - I've only been using it regularly in the past month or so, even though I started an account a couple of years ago.

I'm not interested in what everyone's doing at every moment of the day. My friends and I like to save up interesting subjects for when we get together and talk. And sometimes that's boring!

One of my good friends is on Twitter, I guess her kids do it a lot, and she got me to join. Now I can't remember my password, so that was that. The problem I have with all those social networking sites is you have to have time to post on them, and you have to have something to say. Well, I sometimes don't have time to eat and sleep, so you can forget Tweeting. Plus I don't have much interesting to say these days. Sometimes I have interesting experiences, but I'm usually to exhausted to write about them. Someday, if my life ever slows down, I would like to blog or do Facebook or something like that, but who knows when that day will come. I spent a lot of time messing around with MySpace and then finally decided it was a big "so what." I don't want to blast or "pimp" my site and I don't want to keep it up, so it is a little oasis in cyberspace that no one visits. I'm not even sure how to add friends on it. I did it once but I just can't remember these things from day to day. I am so privacy oriented, I'm really wary of these things. I can keep up good enough with folks via e-mail. Frankly I'd rather be with people ACTUALLY so much more than virtually. Even the folks I am separated from by distance, I'd just as soon call or e-mail them.

I think this whole Twitter thing/phenomena is totally ridiculous. Even more so when you know the definition of the word twit.. a term not unknown to most.
Anyway, twit... an annoying fool.

Twitter, a highly annoying and foolishly popular way to (supposedly) waste time on the Internet without it seeming so. All done/promised in lots less (wasted) time. And guaranteed to stroke your ego at the same time. Sort of.

Apparently, there are way more twits out there than even Twitter (in their hopeful, wildly optimistic, dreams thought possible... here's a hint... someone on the Twitter team knew to NEVER, EVER underestimate the number of twits out there, furthermore...they're twits.... what would it take to get those twits to follow anyone... even a washed up twit. But the real genius on that Twitter team figured out something even better... Twits will eagerly be perfectly happy to be labeled a follower.. even a follower of a loser (just another name for a Twit). It's like snake eating it's own tail. Twitter has made it cool for the follower's and the one being followed. Amazing! Really, genius... Case made. A win win for all, eh?
