May I ask for prayers and positive energy?

Yesterday, DS#1 came home from school and said one of his classmates got "sick" at recess and when she went to the nurses office, they called an ambulance and had her go to the hospital. This is a lovely young girl who has been on the same swim team with my kids for several years and we live in the same neighborhood, as well as the kids all going to school together. It turns out she has a brain aneurysm and will be hospitalized for several weeks. The friends and neighbors have all gotten together to take care of grocery shopping and meals, but knowing the power of the CF prayer and positive thoughts - I would love to ask you all to send healing powers to Jeri.

What can I say but 'wow'..I am so blessed! I really do feel better today...I called the other nite 'my pity party'..I truely do not want ya'll to feel 'sorry' for me...but dang I sounded like it when I read my posts...I was having a hard time the other nite..but a huge THANK YOU to everyone! I really do feel better today and stronger..thank you all!!!..sincerely! carrie..they do try other meds..but his system adjusts to them so fast they have to keep increasing them more and more..and all these drugs really do have nasty side affects..thank you for your prayers and concern! Suzi, thank you so much, I have to say 'us' 3 as a family now, are so strong together, and my GW friends who say so many prayers for us makes 'us' stronger!! we need ya'll! denise, I have looked up everything (I thought) about Lewy Bodies...yet you gave me a few sites I had not read..the only thing these are not talking about is his anger...it is so intense, and the neurologist said this is part of LB's... Thank you so much for your research and caring ..and especially your prayers! From the homes we have visited, most would take Pop with Az..but when we mentioned LB's they said they were not equipped to take 'these' patients..go figure! pk, it is difficult and seems to be more so as the days go by..but 'we' as the family we have will stick together..thank you so much for your prayers...I know they are helping! melvalena, again thank you so much for your prayers! I hope we can find a place that is willing to take Pop considering his anger...but my real wish is that they could possibly grow to love him as we do... Sally, thank you so much for your prayers! We have located an Az locater here in our area and they are helping us. My DH and DMNL went to a facility today that is 'hopeful' yet not cheap by no means..but actually got to talk to the neurologist on the spot and they have '1' opening due to a death..this is the strongest possiblity... Kathy you are such a sweet lady, what a blessing you are, you have helped me so much! And barb, thank you so very much for reaching out and listening...it made a huge difference in my life! fourkids, What a very, very kind offer. I will email you if/ when that can happen. They will message me thru my son. Yes Ian is still in Baltimore at Mercy. If you go to telesmaband.com there is a link to donate to Ian. A trust fund has been set up.Or you can also go to the Telesma page to read all about Ian and his progress and the link is there. The band has decided to play without Ian at the Spoutwood Farm May Day Festival in PA. It is May 5 and 6. They had planned on releasing their new album there, and now any proceeds to Telesma will go to the trust fund for Ian. They are asking all who love Ian to come and help them all heal. I hope to go on Sunday. Yesterday he was in a wheelchair outside for a bit,was able to eat a bit of applesauce, and ice chips- his throat is extrememly sore from the weeklong intubation. The chair was uncomfortable for him. Just think, when he was brought to hospital a week ago Friday, they were unable to revive him, but tried once more! Those ED docs and his two friends that gave him CPR immediately- saved his life. like I said before, i am going to get recertified in CPR- even though it has only been a year. Needless to say, emotion runs high. But I feel this is a safe place for me to say what I need to. Long story short, I left the hospital last night because I was hurt and disgusted by what was going on. Earlier in the day, we had met, as a family, to discuss moving to pallative care and stopping any further action-let nature take it's course. She was not on any life support, simply monitors, but as requires with continued medical care (not the pallative care), blood tests, BP, etc was continuing. We agreed that would stop-there was no need as we knew she was going to die. We also agreed no DNR (she ultimately confirmed that in a moment of lucidity) and her DH insisted NO DNR. She was getting some medication to control her BP, pain med (we agreed to keep that) and another to keep her blood acid levels from rising due to the liver failure. Stopping that would allow nature to take it's course, and that was what was agreed upon by everyone. Well, after her DH was taken home, and his kids left, things went south. They were disintigrating before that, but it got so bad that I just had to leave. I'd planned to stay with her till the end, DH was going to go home, he didn't want to be there, and I was ok with that. But somehow things changed-and my BIL's new wife convinced BIL that since she's in the medical field (a medical office assistant) that mom DID want CPR, and to not remove the 'life support'-the freaking MONITORS!! Anyway, when the nurse came in again to do a finger prick for a blood glucose level, and mom was still conscious, I lost it. We SPECIFICALLY agreed NO MORE INVASIVE PROCEDURES!! This was not the nurse who had been on earlier-the one advocating for the comfort care, and it was a different Dr. on staff. So I lost it in a private room-and I decided to hell with it-I could not stand to see her go thru this-against HER wishes and ours-because her sons were too afraid to let her go. I didn't even get privacy with her to say my goodbyes because BIL's wife refused to leave the room-so I kissed her and I left around midnight. I have decided I am not going to do another thing. Her wishes and her husbands were not followed (another reason I'm updating my Advance Directive today) and someone I loved-even though she frustrated the hell out of me at times-is no longer able to be part of my life. Her best friend came by the hospital-heart broken-and I decided that if she could go home to grieve, so could I. And I want to remember her in a better way-not with the resentment that would come if I go back to that hospital. Thanks for letting me have my say-and for the kind words. As I write this, she's still hanging in there-thanks to the meds keeping her heart going. (I'm not bitter, am I?)

Thank goodness they found it before it killed her (that happened to my neighbor, she died in childbirth). More often than not, that's the outcome. She's a very fortunate young woman. Good thoughts for her.

How very fortunate the young lady went to the nurse's office and did not ignore that she felt poorly & kudos to the Nurse who recognized the need for an ambulance. This is why we need Nurses in our schools.
I will keep Jeri & her family in my Prayers.

Alex , Jeri will be in my thoughts and prayers for sure. What a scary time for her and her family. We just never expect this type of illness to strike children but it does and more often that we can imagine.

I'm just now seeing this. My heart and prayers go out to her and all her family and friends. One of my former co-workers is a surviver of an aneurysm. He's a former co-worker because he was able to finally move on and start his own business. Recovery can and does happen.

Thanks everyone.

I've not gotten any updates yet, but I will post when I know more. All we know so far is she is conscious and speakng a little and will need surgery to correct it in the very near future.

How lucky that is was discovered. DH's DB had a brain aneurysm that nearly killed him. We are grateful for the wonderful doctors and nurses that treated him and that he is still here with us.

Best news ever! Jeri is coming home tomorrow and is in great shape. She will have surgery in the next few days to correct the problem and is looking at a full recovery.

I'm just seeing this for the first time and I am happy to hear all will be well. She is a lucky girl to have discovered it in this fashion. Just had a friend (in her 70's), perfectly healthy, complained of a horrible headache while baking Christmas cookies and went to the hospital. She died with two days from the bleed in her brain. Everyone who knew her was stunned.

I'm adding Jeri to my prayers, hopeing for an easy surgery and a full and complete recovery afterward.

I have been away for awhile and just read this Alexa. So many things were done right, her going to the nurse, instead of blowing it off, the nurse getting her to the hospital! All those things aided in her recovery, and I'm so glad for her and her family! She will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers! Keep us updated Alexa, when you can!

Update on Jeri.

I was at their house last night to drop off dinner and spoke with her older sister. She is on meds and sleeping a lot, 20+ hours a day. Also, she is talking a bit and does have a little movement in her fingers which is why the prognosis is so positive.

Thank you all again for the prayers and positive energy! It is working!
