David/Lakeguy, are you snowed in?

I saw on the news that Oklahoma was getting hammered again with snow. Now usually when I say that "David is getting hammered", it has something to do with drinking, but not this time.

Are you OK, still have power, will you ever be able to shovel out? What a winter for you, stay warm!

Digging out yet again Annie. I'm REALLY tired of all this carp!! Another 6 - 22 inches of snow depending on what part of NEOK you live in. My burb got another 8 inches but just 20-25 miles NE of me they had two feet. Thankfully it stayed up there!! Schools have been closed for eight days now and I don't think they will open back up until Monday. I've shoveled more snow in the last week than I have in years.

A very cold night here tonight but then the warm up begins. Fifties by Sunday and the mid sixties all next week. That should melt all of this stuff and life will be back to normal again. No loss of power with all of this mess but it has really put a big strain on business and commerce in general. Crazy is all I can say!! I'm so ready for summmer!!

Glad to see you reporting in travel buddy! You've been on my mind when I heard about OK on the news this morning. Good thing we didn't have to send out a search and rescue party with big shovels!

I don't think you can go wrong with 'White Cap'. It is my very best white climber, by a MILE. (Unless you want to count 'Alberic Barbier', but that will easily get to 20' and try to take over your house) White Cap's flowers are creamy white and they are fragrant. Its foliage is dark bluish green, and it rarely has any blackspot on it. Mine is trained to a pillar, and I can keep it in bounds without a whole lot of effort. Remember, a rose is a living plant (not a prop) and there are many times when no rose can possibly fill the garden spot that you have in your imagination. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut ... if it sounds good, buy it and try it ... if the negatives outweigh the advantages, choose something else. Thanks to you to0 Karen and everyone for their concern! Copy of my post on the other side of the forum.....again, this really is a great group of friends and people that I'm glad to know and actually have had the pleasure of spending some good times in person. Thank y'all so very much for checking in on me and my family/group. I've been out of town working and just got home a hour or so ago. Debi, my sis did text me that Ann had called this morning checking in....I remember you calling years ago for some swap info for the riverrat. : ) It's good to know you have friends from around the world thinking about you and your family and friends. We do have some in our circle of friends and employees that have been affected by this. Thankfully everyone is alive and well minus the damage and or loss of homes. My thoughts and prayers are there for everyone in the damaged areas over the last several days. Sally, I hope you hear from your missing family member soon and I'm happy to hear the rest of the family is okay for the most part. Peppi, thanks for the post and concern my friend, and Ann for the phone calls. This forum and it's members are the best. I will reply to all of the emails in the next day or two and REALLY appreciate all of them and your concern. I really miss being here as of late but we have had some major family issues and concerns that have taken up much of my/our time and life in general. Thanks again all y'all!!! Thanks for all the BD wishes all y'all!! Celebrated early due to my work schedule and travel. Sad to say but I had take out in a hotel room last night. LOL Last weekend was a good time though. Friday night we hit the casino and had dinner at one of my favorite steak joints for dinner. It's a local place (with a couple of locations including he casino) that I've enjoyed since the early 90's. Yes, Lars, a little seafood in the form of crab cakes and shrimp cocktail for appy's. Saturday afternoon and evening was spent with some of the same friends and more helping move two huge aqauruims. Another good time...lots of cheap beer....the infamous Crown for me. LOL! Moving 200 plus gallons of water is a challenging task...thankfully several of us still drive trucks. Pizza, wings, and a few games on the wii ended the night LATE. Sunday was brunch at Mom's with the family. Breakfast casserole, potaoes o'brian, biscuits and gravy, and Mom's Bloody Mary's. A good nap in the afternoon rounded out a perfect weekend for me. Thanks again y'all. I think this is the 10th or 11th BD I've celebrated with this cool group of friends. Hard to imagine it's been that long. Sol, we all know where the beer is in that pic my frined...LOLOLOL! I'm not sharing the backseat or shotgun stories....just use your imagination....LOL!! David

Yes, I'd heard there was up to 2 feet of snow, that's a LOT for you guys there, heck it's a lot for most places all at once.

I'm glad you're OK, take it easy with all that shoveling. As soon as the snow melts business will pick up and you'll be so darned busy that you won't even have time to cook! I'm thinking all kinds of positive thoughts here.

Ewww. All that snow. I can't even imagine dealing with that. I'm glad you're ok and have power!! What a mess. Stay warm David! If that means cracking open a bottle or two, well so be it! I'm with you in spirit!!

I've been thinking of you, too. My sister in Siloam Springs, Arkansas got 20" of snow, but I don't know if that was this last storm, or an accumulation over the past week.

Hang in there, David. We're heading up to Tahlequah this weekend to check on our place up there.

I saw the weather report yesterday that said record snow for Tulsa. I hope you stay warm.

What do people do to stay warm with temps that low? Fire place, sweaters? My grand babies are going to Michigan tomorrow, they are eager to play in the snow. I don't think they will stay outside long.

Cathy, they're coming at the right time, we're supposed to warm up tomorrow, tonight it's still bitter cold, but tomorrow in the 20s, then in the 30s over the weekend. If hope they are going to northern Michigan, Elery is supposed to have rain by Wednesday and that just makes things sloppy and icky.

David, you're weather has been, and seems to still be, worse than any of us have experienced this winter. Specially given that bad weather is relative to the norm that an area gets.
