Comments (4)Guys, thank you for your kind thoughts concerning DSIL's sweet Mother. It all happened during strange weather. There were no church services today--we had a small service at the kid's house---we live next door to each other. We were doing pretty well 'til we tried to sing 'In the Sweet By and By' for our closing hymn. We were crying and then laughing at the same time! (If DSIL's Mom had been there, she would've made him go get a switch so she could swat him one!)...See MoreI need suggestions for a winter boot
Comments (47)Thanks, daisy. I ended up buying a pair from a British company called Duo when they were offering free international shipping. Duo was recommended to me because you could order by calf size. Often boots sold in wide widths have wider boot shafts but I don't have wide feet. Within the past couple weeks I've received notices that Duo has changed its name - not sure if it's a merger or buyout, but they claim they'll offer the same quality & service. It's a two-name name like "Muffy & ........" (Can't think of it right now) My calves really are pure muscle - I got them from my Dad. My thighs, well, that's a different story... I was so impressed with the quality of the La Canadiennes I'd like to try them again. Maybe a style that isn't knee high could work. ETA The new name for Duo is Ted & Muffy...See MoreCloset organizing for my Mom
Comments (2)Come do my closets! One of our caregivers and I have done that with my mom's closet a few times, and now that she can't pick out her clothes it makes things much easier on the caregivers. Her "special" clothes that she didn't want to part with went into one closet, so she can look at them but they aren't worn. I recently went through her dresser drawers and moved the wearable tops to her closet, and arranged by color (my new fave way to organize). I've scored some nice tops and sweaters and purses, too! Unfortunately, 5'-tall Mom usually had her jackets altered so the sleeves are shorter, and there's no way I can fit her size 5 Wide Ferragamos....See MoreLooking for cashmere/warm leggings/pants and furry boots. Ideas?
Comments (23)Mtn, those are much more cute than I had envisioned. I’m going to look furtner, as my DGD is taking a trip to NYC with girlfriends a couple of weeks before Christmas and will need some warm things. Her birthday is coming up soon. One question, are the abercrombie pants very long? There isn't a length given in the description and my girl is very short....See Moreannie1992
