GRRRR, need help with Adobe flass download

Everytime I try to download flash, or any adobe it says error try again,it does this over and over again. I just uninstalled it because at every web site a box would drop down and says do you want to in nstall adobe flase, yadda, when it is already installed, what can I do, Thanks in advance pks

Have followed the uninstall instructions at the link below, then reinstall flash..

I had the same problem, it worked fine for me by first closing open browser windows after the download but before installing.

DA, watch that thinking while eating lunch...it's bad for the digestion! However it is much appreciated. Below are the answers to your questions. 1. Have you tried FF bare boned with not add-ons to see if this occurs? Ans. Yes 2. Have you tried a prior version of FF? Ans, Yes, just a few minutes ago. I un-installed ver 11.0 and installed the older 10.0.2 in it's place. I also un-installed Flash Player and re-installed that again. ...still the same results after shutting down and re-starting! 3. First guess: Are you installing the correct version; I.E. vs. Non-I.E.? If you are doing a "run-install" you absolutely have to be downloading the proper version. If you are doing a "save-install" you can use any browser to download-save-install either version, but it will only effect the target browser.. In my case I have FF, Opera, Google, SlimBrowser and I.E.9 installed on the system so I have both versions of Flash installed. Use the tool below to uninstall whatever you currently have installed. Thanks Mikie, I appreciate the link and answer. She seems to have some aversion to using Firefox, though I can't figure why. I tried to explain how easy it is to use, the explanations for what things are and how to use them are understandable, but she won't listen, and installed a different browser. Don't know why she asks for advice then refuses to take it. I gave her lots of options for browser, malware detection, virus detection, and she still managed to get a bunch of crap on her new computer. Don't understand how. The Norton is a 90day pre-install. I think I'm going to give up on the advice. I have a new computer also, and have not downloaded crapware doing installs of this that and the other. I guess I know a little more and understand more of what I do know. Thanks again for the help.

Hi damccoy, Thanks so very much for responding! I was trying to download from: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/download/?installer=Flash_Player_10.1_for_Windows_Internet_Explorer&p=Google_Toolbar_6.5&d=McAfee_Security_Scan_Plus&os=XP&browser=ie&type=activex I made sure it was a download for Windows XP. Made sure I had enough room to download it. I am using IE8. I only use my AOL for email because I've had it set up since 1997 and I am too lazy to go around changing my email addy with all that have it for social and business. So I wanted the flash player to load for IE8 as that's the browser I use for all my searches/internet activity. I did just recently add service pack 3 to my computer and the first time I tried to download it I had problems. That's the first time my friend told me about this site here at GW. I ended up being able to get the service pack 3 on my second try. I tried a second time with Adobe Flash 10 and then again a third time but even though I get the message box that says it's been downloaded, I see that it's nowhere in the Add/Remove section. Are you sure that you are getting the correct version for the browser you are using, there's one for IE, and one for non IE version.

Windows 8, IE10, its Flash Player updates come from Microsoft. Flash is coded into win8. Most people won't be able to uninstall it.

I Uninstalled it with their uninstall tool - only to panic when it wouldn't re-install the newest version... then discovered it was just sitting and waiting until needed again on a web page.

Flash & Silverlight wont been needed eventually.. they will be replaced by newer webpage coding and browsers that handle the newer HTML version 5 coding.

that big dam box drops down every time I click on the muse, I had to click don't allow15 times just to get t this site and yes I did uninstal and reinstal, bt I am sue I am not doing something right, help me before I throw it out a window.I HATE adobe

Are you running or saving the download? If you are running while the target browser is active, have you tried saving the download, closing the browser, and then doing an install.

Have you tried the download from a recognized mirror site such as filehippo.com?

HTML5 is now in candidate release to developers and such. It won't be in full service until 2014. And yes it is being reported that with the new coding Flash, Java, Shockwave, and Silverlight will no longer be required.

Sounds like a browser/security setting is blocking flash. Or you have Flash set to disabled in the browser and its screwed up..

Which browser ??? I'm used to IE and it has buttons to reset all the settings and security to defaults. That maybe a simple fix for any browser ... with Firefox is simple to uninstall/reinstall. Figure out how to export your favorites or bookmarks and at uninstall remove all settings too.
