Need help with email

Hi-Im usually at the kitchen table but need some help from the experts here. I have a yahoo mail account and cannot access as I apparently forgot my password and even though I have answered the security questions I keep getting the stupid "code" window. I type in the code shown and am sent back to log in. This just keeps happening and I guess now Im locked out. I hate to think about setting up a new email account. Is there any other way to go? I did stumble onto an online form to report the problem but it states that they will email me a response. Uh, I don't think that will work. Thanks in advance. Satine

You could set up a g mail account, it only takes a minute or so. Perhaps yahoo could send the password there for you

You should only be locked out for a short period (15 minutes perhaps) and if you try again you can click to change those stupid code letters if the ones you see are hard to read. And many are sadly, been in that predicament myself.

Hi Kat. I've had picassa for a few years now. I really got confused with the software it installed on my PC, partly on how I chose the folders for it to use (which was way too many) and couldn't figure out how to change it. But did manage to get it to work to upload pics once in awhile. But I much prefer just going to the website and choosing to upload from there. Have you tried that? I bookmarked the main page: https://picasaweb.google.com/home. Try going here and logging in, and see if you find that easier to browse to your albums and upload things. I did join up with google+ finally (they kept prompting me to, and I kept ignoring it. But my sister joined and then added me to her google+ circles, so finally took the plunge! It does change things a bit, so some getting used to). Anyway, what you'll find if you are a google+ member is that the above url will change to 'https://plus.google.com/photos/114258480802796606590/albums?banner=pwa'. But other than that, seems pretty much the same. Hope you get it figured out! Marj

OK, I was able to create a POP account through the account settings instead. For some reason it wouldn't work the other way through Outlook.com. The new POP account seems to be working properly - ie. the incoming emails haven't disappeared, and they've been the inbox for a few hours now. So fingers crossed. Don't know if I should have a POP account in the day and age of IMAP accounts; but it clearly wouldn't work with one POP account as the server and the other as IMAP.

I would start by making sure my anti virus is up to date with the definitions, then run a full scan. After I would run a full scan using the free program Superantispyware. If that fails to clear your problem use the link below. It looks overwhelming but just go through line by line and you will do just fine. Let us know how it goes please. I finally phrased my question so that Google found a similar query and solution (from 2006) that still worked 8 years later! In case this might help another user, here are the step from the Moderator at MozillaZine. Ã¢ÂÂClick on the imported address book name in the left hand pane. Now click on any name in the right hand pane and then use menu path Edit->Select All, or press Ctrl-A. Now drag and drop the data from the imported address book to the Personal Address Book. Once you have confirmed that everything has copied over properly you can delete the imported address book.Ã¢ÂÂ I would add that this didn't work smoothly until I deleted special lists/groups. Once they were removed, the whole address book previously under the Ã¢ÂÂThunderbird AddressesÃ¢ÂÂ name quickly and correctly transferred to Ã¢ÂÂPersonal Address BookÃ¢ÂÂ. I'm a happy camper.

Thanks for the responses. I tried all the tricks-trying to set a new password, answering security questions and entering the stupid codes but each time it just sent me back to the log in page. I finally did find a number for Yahoo but they are in a different time zone and I have been out all day and havent been able to call back. I will try tomorrow morning. I hate the idea of having to set up a new account but Im really tired of Yahoo mail. Thanks again.

It's a good idea to write down passwords. Hopefully you'll be able to reach Yahoo and get your old address restored.

Most people have far too many passwords, user names, etc to remember. I don't try, i gave up a long time ago, my handy reference text file never fails me. I have copy on all my PCs and my smartphone.

Yahoo was playing with formats and things this morning. I could log-in but then kicked off immediately with a time-out message. OK now. Perhaps OP got tangled in on of these updates. Suggest trying again.
