Yahoo Mail problems

Lately, I've been having all sorts of problems with Yahoo Mail. This is a screen shot of what it currently looks like

Sometimes it is missing entire entries, sometimes it is missing just vowels or just some vowels. This happens after it has been doing fine for a while. I'll open a tab to look at Garden Web or Facebook or something, and when I go back to the Yahoo Mail tab, some part will be missing.

If I hover over the subject column, in the small box next to the arrow, it'll show what the subject is. Same for the sender.

My browser is Chrome. I am using an ancient Lenovo R61 laptop. (I need a new laptop, but that is a post for a different day...maybe)

Do you regularly clear the browser cache of all saved data types (Chrome describes it as "from the beginning of time")? That might be the problem or a partial cause.

How does that page appear when you use a different browser?

I don't know how it appears in a different browser. I'll try to test it, but it is so random in Chrome, that I don't know if I can replicate the problem. I closed that tab and reopened it and now all of my emails are showing up.

I do clear the cache from time to time, but it has probably been several months since I have. I'll do that now.

Recently, I ran whatever AVG touts as "Fix Performance." It fixes fragmentation, registry errors, and some other things.

It is totally baffling to me, but then again, most things to do with the computer baffle me.

Mine works fine . Yahoo in the news lately said starting this week they encrypt all emails for security enhancements. And all searches and messenger stuff to follow. So maybe they hit a snafu on your server or you not accessing with HTTPS or something simple.. Hopefully it will automatically fix it self fast for you... Might help it along by running something like CCleaner to clear your internet cache and restart the computer to make sure a good flush of dns cache.

I don't have an Ipad so have no clue. There are some nice forums on apple I am sure and people would know or maybe someone here with an Ipad has a suggestion. Even on the computer I back up my address book and my favorites as you just never know if something might happened and you would need to reload them. Mary

Or maybe you don't access your account as often and just missed the window of downtime. Its problems are way more often this last week than other times. It's acting up right now. Try the link I have farther up the thread, and you'll see how large a chunk of time it's been misbehaving today. It's a moving graph so it won't show you Monday, for instance. not right this moment for me, but it was earlier and it absolutely was on Monday. Or maybe I only hit it when it wasn't working. Either way, I think you're dismissing things you shouldn't dismiss. Yahoo is having trouble right now. It'd be nice if it worked every time one opened their mail. Which is what one would expect from a mail provider. I've been with them for a very long time. It's my only email provider outside of work. I won't change. But to say it's smooth sailing, what's wrong with you? just shows you're either A) lucky, B) don't access it as often as others, or C) are oblivious(?).
