This website & Malwarebytes' Incompatibility

I have had to switch to Mozilla Firefox as my browser.

Every time I access THIS website ... my Malwarebytes' software alert appears in lower right hand corner of my monitor. I also get an 11 character numerical.

The warning states: "Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious website."

It then takes between 20 and 30 seconds to access anything on this website ... any page, any post, returning to previous page, etc.

It is frustrating and it has me concerned.

Any suggestions?

I would go to the malwarebytes forum and post there telling them what is happening to let them know and they may be able to help you. It could have to do with all the changes GW has been making and all the new ads.

And, yes, I get a lot of pop-up ads from this website -- far more than any other website I visit.

Trend micro seems to have an issue with Malwarebytes free version even though it's an on demand scanner. What you could do is uninstall Malwarebytes as prompted, then re-install it again and see if Trend Micro barks at it again. Compatibility issues usually arise when 2 Realtime Active scanners run at the same time and that's not recommend to do so. The free version of Malwarebytes does not run in realtime it's an on demand scanner so there should be no compatibility issues, and will not hurt anything.

Google MBAM Error 732 unable to update. It's a connection issue, usually seen on dial up or slower connections. Power cycle the router if you use one. How are you connected? I do not think this is Malware related. I had this problem. On my Net Zero I could not up-date Malwarebytes. Here is a link that might be useful: Error codes for MBAM.

Hi Katlin It's time you move to a Malware removal forum. Running automated tools like that and hoping something sticks is not the best approach. You need to visit Landzdown forum. Post the required log files and then a determination of the infection is diagnosed, then the right tools will be used. I'm starting to get worried TDSS Killer is no toy, TDSS Killer is a rootkit scanner. Rootkit scanners have to be used with caution as they generate false positives. From your post: Threats detected Locked file Service: swenum medium risk I clicked on Delete . To sum things up: A locked file or service does not necessarily mean a threat. "Object is locked skipped" or "Access Denied" notations in an anti-virus/anti-malware scan are not uncommon. Some files and services are locked by the operating system or running programs during use for protection, so scanners cannot access them. When the scanner finds such an object, it makes a note and then just skips to the next one. That explains why it may show as "skipped", "locked" or "Access Denied" in certain anti-virus or anti-malware log scan reports. These types of detections are normal and not usually malware related so there is seldom a need for concern. File path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\swenum.sys The file swenum is a trustworthy file from Microsoft. The swenum.sys process is part of Microsoft Windows and should not be deleted or prevented from loading each time Windows loads. Doing so could cause errors or Windows to stop working. Because the swenum.sys file is a Windows Operating System file it is not recommend you download this file from any website. If this file is missing, it is likely other Windows related files are also missing, we suggest re-installing Windows to make sure your issue is correctly resolved. swenum.sys Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator Microsoft Corporation The file swenum.sys by Microsoft runs as a Windows kernel mode device driver named Software Bus DriverÃ¢ÂÂ. The other thing that can happen in Malware is that a System file like swenum can get infected, but you just can't go an delete a Microsoft file that's part of the operating system, at that point the file has to be cleaned or replaced. Before any other issues occur, please get to a forum, save any log reports that these scanners may have created. Using a highly rated security program is a better approach and protection requires no user invention. By doing so, neither Super Anti Spyware nor Malwarebytes will likely be needed. It's not like having these run are essential or even needed for a properly protected machine. If you're not using a best in class program, uninstall what you have plus these two , pick just one of the top three rated programs on this list of independent test results shown in the link below, and be happy. If you are using Firefox -- as I am -- you should just install the add-on AdBlockPlus and then add EasyList to it. It will make the ads go away, and -- though I can't guarantee it -- maybe Malwarebytes will quit responding that way if you block those ads. To add these things, go to the EasyList page (which has a link to AdBlockPlus), get AdBlockPlus installed, and then come back to add the EasyList subscription. All free, all fast to do.

I second what kudzu9 says, as I too have Firefox, Malwarebytes, and Adblock Plus with Easylist and don't have any ads or problems.

I'm curious. I have always used Adblock Plus but didn't know about EasyList. I just subscribed and notice the Privacy List. Is that one worth getting?

thunderboltlee-Just wondering: I have had the exact same problem for several weeks. I've updated my Malwarebyte's anti-malware program, installed Adblock Plus with EasyList, and I still get that same message ("successfully blocked" etc.) I was gone (without this computer) for about 10 days, but here we are back again with no improvement. Did you ever resolve this? Anyone else with any other ideas?

If you've got the full version run the update it works fine, also to anyone thinking of upgrading I suggest you do as its great protection, the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program will work fine if you simply right click on the icon and click allow IP on this site. Other than that I highly recommend you do upgrade, for those thinking ive linked to a site were you can get a discount incase anyone is intrested.

Call me over careful if you wish as I am leery of the above post. It's that old apprehension caused by someone just appearing out-of-nowhere with a non-specific e-mail address to a non-specific domain, and the member name in black. Plus the presented, "linked to a site" in regards to a commercial offer rather than directly to Malwarebytes just doesn't set well.
