As far as I can see the phone does not have the ability to transfer data to pc or from pc. If you're connecting the micro USB and not seeing the phone in Mycomputer as a removable storage device, then I would be unsure how to proceed, unless you E- mail the photos to a Email account on your computer.

Do you have texting? If so you can compose a picture text and in the to field put your email address and send to your email but you have to send the photos one by one. If you don't have a texting plan there Will be a charge per text though.

If the phone has bluetooth consider one of these. I have a smart phone but hate taking the cover off to get to my memory card so transfer photos to computer this way and it works great. Mary

Thanks, I have texting, but only a telephone keyboard, not very useful.

I talked with an AT&T person at one of their stores and he said I should be able to transfer data... but as you note it may be impossible. I may take a netbook with me to the AT&T store and ask them to "show me"... if they can't I'll keep the cell phone (really that's what we need) aand forget about the camera - it has very low resolution in any case, but would still be handy for those occasions when I have a cell phone but no camera and would like to "catch" something on "film".

The cell phone has neither Blue Tooth nor Infra Red.

I'm just a pre-pay type, and the phone was about $30, so what do I expect? Simply I expected a phone that offers to take a picture would offer a way to get it off the phone without typing in URLs with a phone keypad. This I will share with AT&T if it turns out that way. Their owner manual is mum on the subject. So I can't expect much I suppose.

I'm retired from AT&T so I hate to go to another supplier, and I do not want a smart phone, I am becoming sick of all the consumer technology being pushed, and I'm not only retired form AT&T (a past technology giant - bell labs) I'm a retired Electrical Engineer - go figure.

Is it this model? Says it has bluetooth so you could probably use the adapter I posted. Mary

Thanks, now why didn't I know that, I have the manual and the AT&T person was asked about interfacing to a PC...maybe he said "bluetooth" and I didn't hear it - don't have good hearing either ; (

I guess Bluetooth is a wireless technology - why the %$&(%)%)86 didn't they phone offer WiFi, far more popular.

My W8 PC may have Bluetooth, would it show up as a "tile" on the W8 desktop? I'll check and look further at the Users Manual I have for the Z222.

Your computer may have bluetooth buit in so check. My desktop and laptop didn't so I bought an adapter for each. I could be wrong but wifi wouldn't do you any good unless you have internet on your phone to email the photos from the phone. I know on my phone when I am connected to my wifi in the house I can't directly transfer files with it that way or I would not have bought the adapters.

I fond on W8 a function "enable Bluetooth" device and I clicked on it and it went into a "search" mode, but I didn't have the cell phone or any BT device in the vicinity. So W8 found nothing. I will pursue.

I'm sure the AT&T guy didn't give me as much help as you have. But he is more in the business of selling smart phones, not the simple go phone choices.

Connecting AT&T's ZTE Z222 cell phone to a laptop via Bluetooth was an interesting discussion, until it suddenly terminated! I've found it easy using Mac OS X 10.6.8 to transmit photos in both directions between phone and computer, and I can send plain text from computer to phone, BUT NOT FROM PHONE TO COMPUTER. No additional equipment is required if the laptop is Bluetooth capable, which most laptops are.

I'll soon be calling AT&T on this problem. BTW, a good number on which to call AT&T for technical help on their pay-as-you-go phones is 1.800.901.9878, I'll check back here in a few days to see if anyone is still interested in this puzzle.

Jerry, the next time you need to replace the phone, you can still get a very simple inexpensive phone, but, get a phone with a micro sd slot. Then just pick up an inexpensive micro sd card, and insert it in the slot. When you take pictures, they will go onto the sd card. When you want to put them on your pc, just remove the sd card, and put it in the card reader on your computer, or an external card reader, and you can copy and paste them right from the sd card to your computer. No need to spend money on a smart phone etc, if you dont need one.

cat, thanks... that is in fact what I do with my compact full featured digital phones -- pull the "SD" card and plug it into my computer.

I will take some time to figure out the existing phone/camera, but it seems now that I'm retired I just "can't find the time"... a common result of aging, sitting and doing nothing "feels good".

LOL Jerry. Please tell me how you can be retired and just sit and do nothing. I dont seem to be able to do that, and I just might like to once in a while. I just had my 75th birthday, and figure, I must be entitlled to a bit of sitting around time, but, it never seems to happen. :-)

Good for you, I turn 75 this summer, my wife turned 75 this month. If she was more mobile I'm sure we would still be riding bikes and hiking, maybe still skiing - we were doing all those things up to at least age 70 or more.

I do house work and cooking as well as maintain a 5 acre property (not so good as I should given the time I have). On the tech'y side I just put in a new HDTV and am in the process of changing out set top boxes to get HD from Comcast - I have their minimum package and didn't need the HD when I had only SDTV. I also added Roku (I had that on the previous SDTV which works so well I hate throwing it out). The Roku 2 I have was easy to interface with my home WiFi - but I would have come here if I had experienced problems. Well in truth I did as I wanted to get Youttube on my Roku 2, not available directly but should be possible with the PLEX application, that's something I may think more on if I can work up the energy : (

On photography, I am still sorry digital cameras happened. I had/have a nice B&W darkroom set up and had designs of doing some "Ansal Adams" after retirement. In spit of my lack of expertise on the phone in the camera, I do understand photography better--than-average and have some sophistication in my digital camera arsenal. But I shoot mostly in the 3 mp detail (can do 10 mp) because I don't enlarge anything any more... have a lot from the film camera days.

On things I don't get around to I have a 2 GBit SD card that I should put in my main camera...but put it off so long I now can't find it. Aging memory strikes again - as does sitting too much.

I guess it's alright to chat with a GW Friend - hope so.
