| Belkin USB Easy Transfer Cable.
I know these devices were intended to transfer favorites, email, address book, settings, and stuff like that. I would like to know can I use it to just transfer files. I work with video files which can get quite large. I have two computers that I use. Currently I use an external hard drive and copy the file(s) to the drive and then switch and copy the files to the other computer. This takes doing two copies. If I could do a direct transfer I could cut the copy time in half. Yes, I could do it over the home network connection. But that is way too slow (can take hours) and it only takes about 10 minutes now using the external hard drive. Can a USB Transfer Cable be used for direct connection transfers? Thanks. Pooh Bear |

| Not up on the easy transfer cable, you might want to investigate the transfer speed... but think you will find it slower than a regular network connection ... Inexpensive network switch and a couple of cat5 patch cables maybe lots quicker. Quick look at newegg I saw a network switch for $9.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166034 Plain old usb wifi network adapters in ad-hoc mode run 11mbs and newegg and others usually have name brand ones for a wireless connection at $20 each. Sometimes close outs for less. |

| This seems to answer the question. (link below) But it raises another question. Is the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable a USB Bridge Cable. Pooh Bear Quoted from http://www.usb.org/about/faq/ans5 |
