New all in one HP W 8

I had planned to buy an all in one with W 8 to learn the new system and generally play with. When I looked at the specs the list is a bit different than a desk top. Here is what I have been looking at. It is a HP Envy Touchsmart 23D044, the processor is what I was curious about. I am keeping my W 7 desktop. Opinions please.

i3 is the smallest and slowest of the intel processors, there are also i5 (mid range) i7 which is normally like a serious gaming processor. i3 is ok for basic needs

Thank you for the info. That is the best I can find so far. I think I will wait for awhile, I am in no hurry.

Fish is correct about the weight of flywheel being a factor in this scenario. Most "engine swaps" are from a certain OEM horsepower to a larger horsepower replacement. That type of engine swap seldom causes "driveability" issues. Going downward in horsepower might reveal the role of flywheel inertia in getting a stationary machine into motion. Having a heavier flywheel makes it easier to apply the load (gross weight of machine) to the engine without stalling the engine. A heavier flywheel also makes the machine react less to slight changes of load (such as swales or dips). Of course, once you get the machine into motion, it developes and maintains it's own inertia (proportianate to the gross weight of the machine). Getting that machine into motion (especially if it is towing something) might be difficult without a lot of "clutch slipping".

Just to prove they exist, here are some F18T8 cool whites. Don't look at the price unless you're sitting down with a stiff drink! 17W should be much easier to find, that is possibly the most common 24" tube now. Still likely to be twice the price of a 48" tube of similar quality! HD staff have no clue what they are talking about. 15W, 17W, or 18W will all run fine on your 18W ballast. The difference is well within the variation in ballast factors between different ballasts anyway, which means that some 15W ballasts will actually drive a tube harder than some 18W ballasts.

I don't know what the default label concentration is for MG is. The default for most water soluble fertilizers is about 350ppm nitrogen. For my fertigation I use 100ppm nitrogen which is about 1/4 strength. Just remember that the NPK numbers are percentages by weight, and 1ppm is 1mg per 1 liter of water. So if you mixed up 100mg of the miracle grow in a liter of water you would have a 24ppm nitrogen solution.

If I were going to get an all in one I would have to take a very serious look at the Vizio models. I saw some at walmart. Awesome. I appreciate the company too.
I believe that there's 3 models.

Thanks Raven and Owbist,

Raven I have heard very good things about Vizio TVs and will check it out. I always buy HP because of my experience with them and the fact that I can order the reformat CDs. I don't depend on the CDs like I used to, but would still hate to be without them. I will check out the Vizio web site also.

The specs for the model you refer to mention "3rd generation Intel. . . ." Has Intel come out with a new generation of processors??? The designations i3, i5, and i7 have referred to 2nd generation processors, so this is a bit confusing to me.

Vizio makes decent TVs, not terrific but solid. They're good value for money but many other brands are considered better.

They've been in the PC business for less than 6 months. There's no way to know if their PCs are good or bad, reliable or problematic, long or short-lived.

I'd steer clear until enough time passes to know if they're any good or not - let other people be the crash test dummies. New product lines are notorious for having issues.
