| I got notification of 7 2007 Microsoft Office System updates and I don't have it on my system. I have Works 9.0. I also received a SP1 update and I have SP2. Should I hide these updates or let them run? |

I would bet that SP1 update is NOT the windows xp service pack you need to read exactly what the sp1 update is and tell us that, seeing SP only means it is a compilation of updates being issued as a service pack update, many many things in windows have service pack updates. the .NET updates lately have all been SP updates that may be what you are seeing. If you are getting an update listed in your critical updates list from the actual windows update site then you have on your pc what ever it is that needs that update because it scans your pc to see exactly what you have and what you need. go to the windows update site it self, choose custom, and look at the critical updates list to see what exactly it is you have listed to get. Start> all programs> at the very top is windows update site link |

| The SP1 says it has to do with compatibility of MS Office Systems. I called up windows update custom plus regular updates and the only thing it shows is SP3 as being critical. |

| you will need to go past the SP3 screen, it will tell you first that you do not have SP3 on the computer but below that notice it says to view all other critical updates click on there, skipping the SP3 area, and it will then show you the other updates for your system. You have likely told it to hide the SP3 update which is why it tells you that first, mine does that also. So try going there again and just scroll on down past the SP3 info and look for the other button. |
