| I have an old Compact laptop. I just updated Avast, and the laptop told me it was going to Hibernate, which it did, and I can't get it up and running again.

| push the power button, wakes mine up hold the power button in maybe 4 or 5 seconds resets it when stuck. |

| Well, duh! It had run out of battery power, and I forgot to plug it in (the adapter was plugged into the computer but not the outlet). Thanks, Mikie. That usually works for me too. I really can't use this laptop anymore without it being plugged into the mains. Steve |
