E-mailing a link or page

I just realized I can no longer send a link or page by e-mail from a website. Those two options are greyed out. However, I can still send a shortcut to the desktop. This is all fairy recent. Any idea what I must do to get back to the original way of doing business?

What email client are you using?
When I want to email a link to a website I go to the url in the address bar and hi light that url copy it then go to the body of my email and paste the url address into the email and send.

Oops, not enough info.....baaad Steve.
RC, I use OE.
In the past, I have always used: FILE/SEND TO.

Well, I am still one of those without my personal e-mail addy listed on my member page, but can have e-mail sent to me through GW. In the past, I have had my addy listed and have had serious problems with spam mail that comes from other forums on GW. Since I post on quite a few of the other forums on GW, I found that some of them do have their fair share of spam type posts; advertising for various websites, products etc. When my e-mail addy was available for anyone to see, these posts would pop up on these other GW forums and within an hour or so I would have the spam coming to my e-mail box about the product, site etc. Once I realized where all this spam was coming from, I removed my addy from my member page, and that was the end of the spam coming from here. Hope you all understand why I no longer have my e-mail addy available to see, but as I said, you can send it through GW and I would say that 95% of the time I don't have a problem getting it. Fran

I have read before about users having this concern. When you say large how big do you mean? Is this an ISP e-mail account or an on-line you are using? Both tend to have account limits imposed. How long of a "send" period are you speaking of? Some accounts will time out. Do you have any other applications configured to be actively sharing bandwidth while you are trying to send the e-mail? Have you tried compressing the file into a .zip format and then sending it? DA

Yes, that's what I needed. Outlook is the client or 'application'. The fix is made within the browser, I am assuming IE8 or 9. Click on Tools from the toolbar in Internet Explorer 8 (or 9) and select Internet Options . Then select the Programs tab from the top of the window to access the default browser settings. Click on the 'Make default' button, you can even choose to be alerted if Internet Explorer is not your default browser. Click OK to save your changes. Close IE and try again to access your hyperlinks. There is also a Microsoft 'Fixit' for this if the first step is unsuccessful.
