 o
microsoft updates

Posted by salbwil (My Page) on

I keep getting notifications that updates are ready for my computer. They are : I E 8 ( don't want)
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2003 (KB972580)
And, Security Update for Microsoft Word Viewer 2003 ( KB973866)
I have tried a few times to install the second and third updates , but receive notice stating they can not install. Then, I receive notice saying to update all of the above again.
Do I continue trying, or give up ?
Thanks,
salbwil

RE: microsoft updates

While on the Internet go to the Control Panel and on the
Left side click on Windows Updates.
After you get their give it time to work. It may be your
Windows Installer is not up to date. I forget just how they
word it.
When it's ready click on custom and pick out an update you
think you might need just to see what happens.
As for IE 8 I usually let it install and than I remove it.
I have 2 programs that only work well with IE 6.

RE: microsoft updates

I had a similar problem with updates to programs I no longer had in my computer. I clicked around on the the left side of MS update homepage and removed the update selection for these programs. Grady
