 o
? regarding Irfanview

Posted by loralee (My Page) on

I am using Irfanview 4.25 with Windows XP on my computer.

For some reason when I reinstalled it on this new computer 1 year ago it does this.

when I click on Irfanview and the screen opens up it is black until I paste my image on it.

I don't remember this software doing this before but memory could be wrong.

What do I need to do to correct this so the screen does not open up black?
Thanks for your help

loralee, I also have Irfanview 4.25 on my XP machine, and the screen also opens up black. As I recall, previously, it opened with a small black screen in the upper left corner of the screen. However, I don't think there's any "correction" to be made. Nothing wrong with the way it opens now, is there?

Mine has "always" opened black

If Irfanview is your default viewer for the format in question, let's say .jpeg, any time you click on a .jpeg file Irfanview will open with the target file presented in the window. If you just open Irfanview, as Maybee and Grandms report it will be a blank black window until you open a file via the Toolbar.

You can change the background window color on the options menu. The default is black. HTH.

To change that color that Terry mentioned just go to Options... Properties/Settings...Main Window Color... choose your new color... click OK and then OK again.

Hi Bob,

I live in Duluth, Georgia now. Got tired of all the storms.

Thanks everyone for your help. I now have it changed to white. I think on my other computer the computer shop had set it up with the white. I like this much better, not so annoying for me.

You guys and gals are all wonderful.
