help defraging, harder than you think

| I have winxp pro sp2. My computer will NOT let me defrag unless I scan for errors first. How can I defrag without scanning for errors. When trying to defrag It says, "please run Chkdsk /f." Can I defrag without doing this?

| If it's telling you that you need to scan for errors with the /f parameter, it means that it has found a problem. You need to scan for errors and fix them first. If you were to find a program that would bypass that step, you'd probably end up with scrambled data. |
