| I've been living in the stone ages with dial up. I recently found out I can get Verizon Broadband. It's wonderful. But, I'm having a problem with the VZAccess Manager. When I connect to it & the Internet & disconnect from it, I have to reboot to reconnect. I called Verizon & they told me something must be wrong with my computer. I've never had problems with anything else. What could it be or is there a way I can bypass the Access Mgr to connect?
Thanks for any & all help. |

| I've found that I generally need to be careful how I disconnect, especially if I also take out the USB card that does the connection. If I remember correctly, I have the best results when I do it in this order: Disconnect by highlighting the connection and clicking disconnect. Power the device down in the menu (I think it's under options, but I don't have it connected right now) Unplug the device Use the Safely remove icon to remove the device Exit the VZAccessManager application Then, when I want to use it again, I plug the device in, then start VZAccessManager. I don't know if it's supposed to work that way, but I have the best results when I do it that way. |

if you can not get it right with the above help I would suggest you head over to the BBR forum they have a most excellent Verizon forum and actually have one where you can have direct contact with Verizon employees. Verizon Verizon Direct |

| Since I use a 3G router, I do not use VZAccessManager. My USB device stays plugged into my router at all times. I connect my desktop via Cat5, and use the wireless signal from the router to connect my laptop. This router is about the size of a deck of cards and is the handiest device I've ever had. I use it when we travel with our RV, too, even though I do not have my desktop comp there. I can use my laptop wirelessly or connected by cable. |

| Thanks everyone. bp green, I'll try your step by step instructions. I never unplug the device. It sounds like you might have had the same problem. If I could get by with a router rather than buying a new computer, that would be wonderful. I always say, it's always "those little things". I'm peeking at the 2 websites given. Thanks a lot. |

| " It sounds like you might have had the same problem. " Yes. I've got a laptop and had problems when I'd pack the laptop up to go to a conference room or something along those lines. I'd try to save time by using suspend mode, but it always ended up taking more time because of the reboot. Once I started following the steps above, I was able to reconnect without rebooting. |

| A regular router will not do the job; it must be one especially for 3G. Mine is the Cradlepoint 350 and can be purchased at a number of merchants. I happened to buy mine at Amazon.com. |
