Heeeeelp! Taskbar not functioning

Win XP Media Ed.
Dell Dimension(?) XPS400
I turned on my computer this morning and found the Taskbar, which I love and use constantly, empty. I rebooted, only to get the same result. I removed the lock on the taskbar, but I still can't drag any icons there. Thought maybe I had to click and drag the little spacer bar right next to Start and that would create a space for the icons, but it won't move.
So far as I know, I have not downloaded and installed anything in the last few days, so why this, now? Can anyone please help me, or has Microsoft been messing with WinXP again without permission? |

| Taskbar has three little icon's max? Called Quick Launch... Right click taskbar and choose properties.. look around there for Quick Launch. |

| Thanks, Mikie. I hadn't R-clicked on the taskbar in a long time until "unlocking" it this morning, but when I did what you said, Lo, Quick Launch had gotten unselected. I wonder what caused that, because I certainly didn't do it! Anyway, I got back all fourteen(!) of the little icons I had there--some of them being hidden, of course. Many thanks! |
