 o
security panic...

I had Vipre security programs on my laptop and my XP.
Had problems in both cases. Deleted Vipre from laptop
and replaced with Microsoft Essentials with no problems.

However, when I deleted Vipre from XP, I ran into all
sorts of problems. In the first case, it was 1, 2, 3,..
easy as pie. In the second situation, I was asked all
sorts of questions that did not apply. I tried to do
all that was required, included deleting cookies.

However, I don't know if the progam 'took'! Am now
afraid to use the XP. How can I find out if the
program is in effect? Thanks

RE: security panic...

Right click on bottom task bar, choose Task Manager.
Click on Processes tab, then at bottom, Show all.

Look down list for your Vipre or GFi or Sunbelt

maybe run the vipre removal tool...

Here is a link that might be useful: ESET support - Vipre removal tool is listed
