big attachment

I'd like to send my parents this small movie that my stepkids made (I'm in Australia, they're in Europe).
The movie is about 700MB so gmail won't let me upload it as an attachment in my email.
Is there some simlpe solution or should I burn it to a disc and send it in normal mail?

Wow, 700 megs might be a bit of an overboard. However I have sent files using Skype and also Teamviewer. Skype depends on the traffic at the time, some days it might be precious few KBs' per second but other times it has been amazing

Example, one day I was sending my sister in Scotland 2 meg photos and she was receiving them as fast as I located and uploaded and I am in Canada. You are 14 to 18 hours ahead of Canada/USA so try at a time when it arrives up here about breakfast time and traffic will be lighter.

I have only used Teamviewer once for file transfers but was amazed how fast the file went. With this program you install, your parents simply go to the site and click the 'Join a session' button

Both are free!

Here is a link that might be useful: Teamviewer

I have used this web site for large file transfers and it works great. I use the free part.

there are several sites that allow you to put your file in their storage and send your recipient the info so they can view it.

YouSendIt
SendThisFile
