Thanks Caroline I brought my iPod over to the laptop so I can add some non-games that I use. Utilities Apzilla 2 has all sorts of different utilities, most of them are worthwhile. Some you might never use. Even though Apzilla has it I also have MyLite (a flashlight) and a Free Level program. (a level for hanging pictures straight)and Free Space, a program that tells you how much room is left on your iPod and battery info. Capacity is another program that does this. Free Wi-Fi tells you when you travel where there is free wi-fi you can log into. 5-0 Radio Pro is a fun Police and Fire scanner so you can listen for any calls that come out in your city or even places in your country. My hearing isn't the best and sometimes the talking isn't too clear for me but it is fun listening to the information. It can run in the background. Shopwise is a program that tells you certain deals. I have World Atlas and Google Earth. Book Crawler is a program that lets you keep track of all of your books. iPlant is a gardening book that is quite good. For notes I use Awesome Notes. MyStuff2 is a neat inventory program I haven't used yet. I use IOwn and Iconic Notes, but I don't think either of those are available now. Someday I will transfer everything over. Ian's Laces as Caroline mentioned is fun but there also is a program called Tie a Scarf for women' scarves. Holiday List is also a great Christmas gift planner. AppSniper and AppShopper are two programs I use occasionally. They tell you the new programs that are out. A lot of programs are free for a short time before they start to charge and these programs as well as others will let you know this. I have a lot of medical programs and photography programs as well but this thread is getting long.

Martinca, so totally true! My kids do not have unlimited access to the internet at home. No computers in their rooms, Mac is in the living room in plain view and laptop never leaves the family room or kitchen. My oldest, 13 y/o dd, got an iTouch for Christmas in 6th grade. The internet is turned off so she can't access it unless I put my password in (she never asks, if she wants to go online, she uses the Mac or laptop) and the iTunes account is password protected with my password as we all share the same account for songs, etc. If she wants to download an app, I have to put my password in. She is a good kid and I don't really worry yet about what she might try to get into but as she gets older, there is definitely more that needs monitoring but it's harder to do. Several of her friends have iPhones, so there is nothing I can do about it even when they are in my own home, unless I were to collect phones. Thankfully, her group of friends, while I'm sure not completely innocent, are not into boys yet beyond pining for One Direction, even though there are girls her age that are already "dating" and doing things with boys. But yes, it scares me a little knowing I can't control what happens beyond my own home. Last year, there was a scandal when some 8th grade girls, while at a sleepover, took pictures of themselves in their underwear and then texted the pictures to some boys, who then sent the pictures out to a wide group of kids at various private schools in the area. When I heard who some of the girls were it didn't surprise me as the parents in that "clique" are known for lack of supervision (not that even I could have prevented such a stupid thing w/o confiscating phones every time my dd has friends over, but these girls are known for being able to do all kinds of things I wouldn't allow my dd to do). True, but it won't identify what each alarm was for. Also, you have to figure out what time you want to set it for, rather than just "5 minutes" or "10 minutes".

I've seen it-- and yes, it came with the latest IOS update. I find it interesting.. and appreciate it. After a summer of family emergencies when I was literally tethered to my phone, I especially want to back off on my phone screen time. I don't want to be one of those people! I limit my time on electronic screens especially during the week. I am in IT and work long hours (currently week day and weekends) so I think it is important for me to have downtime. I try (and often succeed) to walk away from almost all screens at 9pm--the only exclusion is the ipad for reading in bed (only because I have a hard time reading books with my vision issues).
