IP address conflict with another system . . .

I often use WiFi with my notebook at a friend's. Her desktop must be turned on first for mine to get the signal.

Recently her desktop (XP) and my notebook are displaying this message when opening the internet browser:

There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network.

After research I tried typing the following (on her computer) at the command prompt:

ipconfig/renew

this appeared:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Correction-specific DNS Suffix . . . . domain_not_set.invalid

IP Address . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 60.126.28.110

Subject Mask . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 60.126.28.111

Exited to Windows and rebooted. Same IP address conflict message appears.

Have tried control panel internet troubleshooting and did not find solution.

(she and I both ignorant in IP addresses, LAN connection, domain names)

Also tried System Restore to a date prior to this error message. No change.
