The height of the closet flange/drain pipe was perfect as is. The problem isn't the height of the toilet, but rather the depth. Raising it up a quarter of an inch would not have affected anything since the tile baseboard is nearly 7" tall, so the neck still wouldn't have cleared. We were told not to opt for a flange extender nor an offset flange because of the delicate condition of the cast iron drain beneath. All of the drain lines to the house converge right at that pipe before heading toward sewer, and the professional plumber we hired to do the job told us that disturbing it would likely damage something in that configuration and would require a total plumbing overhaul. We weighed all of the options before doing it this way, and felt this was our best. (The tank is a good 1" off of the wall installed; the toilet was only too large at the base by a fourth of an inch.)

Lawn#1- If spraying the crabgrass will potentially get some overspray on the freshly seeded area I wouldn't do it. The new tender shoots could easily be damaged by the herbicide. If you can spray the crabgrass without getting it on the new grass then by all means go for it. Lawn#2- On the fertilizer either way will be fine and IMO really won't make any difference. I would wait on putting down any lime as it could affect the fertilizer. You really don't want to put down both at the same time. It's best to wait a month or two if possible to put down the lime.

Wow, that may be why it looked so bad. I thought they were too wide. All I know is that it didn't look right (Sometimes, I know it doesn't look right but don't know why.). I went to the quiltshop yesterday and bought another piece of red for the border. (This one doesn't overwhelm the top.) I'll just put that red border on it and go on down the road. (I hate it when a quilt doesn't work and I don't know how to fix it.) If I still don't like it, I will give it away. Thanks for your help. Bkay

Thanks vaporvac, lol! Lilyfinch, funny you should say Teasing Georgia. At first I was going to say, no, it's not, because I have one right next to it in that same bed, given to me by the same friend. But now, I'm wondering if I had them mixed up all this time? I'll have to wait till the one I think is Teasing Georgia blooms, but I still think the other one is. It's taller and I think the color is closer. But who knows? If I DID mix them up, I'll be back looking for an ID on the other one lol. I have three roses from this friend in this bed, one Teasing Georgia, and I THINK an Ambridge Rose. And then this one. I'll post pics of the other blooms for help in IDing when they bloom.
