Not a computer problem, but an Ipad problem.

I attempted to turn on my I-pad and the screen said: I-pad disabled.What the heck is going on? It was fully charged. I know that it was downloading an update yesterday, but I sure don't know how or why this is happening. Apple has asked me to PAY for them to tell me what is wrong with it. Can anyone help me here? Thanks in advance, Pk

forgot to tell you that some type of number screen comes on asking for your number code which I do not have a clue what this is, I have never beenasked to provide a number code for this I-pad. pk

Hi pkspigs,

All I can find on the issue is

"If your iPad is disabled, someone typed in the wrong passcode enough to disable it. Even an iPad that did not have restrictions on can turn up disabled if someone enables the passcode and then types in a wrong passcode multiple times."

You have to tap the text box to get it so you can scroll up and down inside it , to do that I have to use two fingers. One finger I just pressed down and tap in the text box and hold it there and use another finger at the same time in the box to make it scroll. You have to try it several times as the iPad is fussy. Hope that makes sense.

Good morning, right now the computer is doing well, but I had kept the modem unplugged over night, so I don't know how long this session will last. It definitely is the modem, I'll call the ISp this morning and see what they have to say. If it just lasts long enough for me to pay my bills and so some other business stuff, I'll be satisfied (Not happy) Keep you posted. I do enjoy having a kindle and several book on file, reading is a good sport.

Thanks for the response. I'm using Windows 7. I saw this information but found it too confusing for my skill level. I did the command prompt and then got to the list of all the Junction files but got lost at that point. I found several other posts from persons in a situation similar to mine. They'd point out that the example was unclear and the IT help desk person would just re-state what was said originally. Kind of humorous actually.

No, not dead. I googled to see what the internet would suggest and it said to hold the on switch as well as the home button for 45 seconds and after about 20 seconds it came on! The battery showed that it was at 94% so it wasn't the problem. I guess it was just being difficult...

That's what I saw too. Says you may have to reset in iTunes and then load your back up. Maybe the update messed something up. Don't have an I anything but my friends that do use the apple forums for free help. Found this on the apple site. Mary
