subject line in yahoo mail

I can't type in my subject line anymore. If I can get it to finally work the subject line some how extends past the regular box and therefore the beginning of my subject line starts in the middle of the box rather than the far left.

Also, can't type in the search box. When I ask at yahoo ask, I get all kinds of answers that have nothing to do with my question. Usually pretty stupid far out there answers. If I try asking the yahoo support, they want money if you are satisfied with there answer. Well I'm not going to give them my credit card for good faith if I like there answer. Or something like that.

So have any of you had this problem and know how to fix it? Sometimes I think when I go to that yahoo ask site, I've found the answer, only to notice it was asked about 3 or more years ago.

Sorry to ramble. My main question, how can I write in my subject line? Thanks for any help/direction you can give me.

Sign out of Yahoo; then reboot your computer. Then sign-in to Yahoo and let us know if the problem persists.

Hello gabbygirl

Try this : Double Left click on the word "subject". You now should see your mouse arrow "blinking" in the subject line. It will be about 1 inch from the left.. (That's Yahoo's new up date). But you should now be able to type your subject in the subject line

Yeah, but what if I don't want to talk to any of you? ;~) Anyway, I dumped most of the info from my member page over to my Flickr account. I almost always have it open and reload frequently. There were too many places to have to update constantly. I hardly check my email! Of course when I don't, I always get something interesting. My Yahoo web based free email account has two different interfaces. Classic & New Fangled Updated version. Maybe she can look around toward the top of the page and figure out how to switch to the version she isnt using. Classic opens your mail after you click the subject on a new webpage. I forget how the new fangled version works as I dont use it except by accident.

Just my humble opinion, but if Classic Mail does disappear entirely, don't be surprised. When changes like this happen, it's usually because those in charge think their new way is better (or more profitable) and they won't devote time & effort to support the old way of doing things indefinitely. Trying to get you used to the new way of doing things is just their way of breaking it to you gently. Now might be the right time to learn how to install and use an email client of your choice that can be customized to suit your needs rather than leave your mail in the hands of those who are making changes you don't like. There are many good, free programs available. I use Thunderbird.

Ok I did not know about that. I tried it but it wants me to log in with my yahoo address and I have a different address registered with that site as I just send any large files right from the site. It's still the same if you use the email feature, you need to zip the whole folder first then navigate to the zipped folder and attach unless you want to click on each file one by one to attach. It's always been like that with that site as far as I know. To me it's no different sending from the site or sending from yahoo. Frankly I can't stand yahoo mail or online mail for that matter and use a mail program then yousend it separate if I need to send a large file. Mary

Thanks kudzu9 and linesman. I have tried the logging in and out before and it would work sometimes then go back to doing nothing.

Linesman, I knew I could click on the word subject like you said, but I just thought it wasn't working properly. None of my family are having the same problem though. It's always me that has problems with yahoo,lol.

So do you think I have a newer update? I don't know why I would.

Do they have more recent updates that I accidentally found? And believe me, it would be an accident!!!

And if y'all are tired of my rambling, I appreciate y'all's help.

If the problems persist, consider going to Gmail...

Hey, just letting y'all know, everything fixed itself. Just out of the blue, it started working again.

Genes, one son sent me a link to yahoo for dummies,lol, I think he was serious. And one son has always told me to switch to Gmail, he says he never has any problems.
