Screen Brightness

I can barely see to type this. I have an older Lenovo IBM Thinkpad Z60t and my screen has lost it brightness, very dull.

II am not sure if I hit a wrong Fkey. All the cords are plugged in and I have 100 percent power. Yesterday the battery light went orange for a few minutes even though the computer was plugged into an outlet. The light is green now.

Could you help me fix this. Thanks
