Is there a way to transfer my cell phone saved messages to my PC?
Comments (16)What great options. Digitizing a lifetime of music, voice recordings, movies, etc sure is time consuming. But it's wonderful there are so many options out there. Raven- I had forgotten all about Heartland catalogue. It's been probably 20 years since I ordered from them. Those are some great gadgets. The one with lp too is a bit pricey - esp. since I have a cd recorder connected to my turntable. It's a lot less convenient than having it by the computer - but it works well. The one for just tapes looks good. Grandms'- I don't need the turntable portion, but your post made me think that with the right cables (do you happen to know what they are?) I should be able to hook up my old compact stereo/cassette player to my computer. My question about that has always been that I don't think i have an input into my sound card. Does that mean I have an integrated sound card (without its own input port). But there must be cables that could transfer from a stereo to a usb port. Heck - are there cables that go to a firewire port - or perhaps that's overkill for music files. What's Pyro? Did that come with turntable - or just a program you have? I assume Roxio cd creator could do that - burn a cd? how did you find Cakewalk easier than Audacity? I think I've heard good things about both. And Urlee and Jean love Audacity and find it easy. So I'd appreciate any other thoughts in deciding which software to use? Thanks. Lynn....See Moretransferring music from real player
Comments (2)While various little known programs exist that will convert the ra/rm RealPlayer to common formats, they may be a little hit and miss as to how well they work. A quick look at the Real website does show that the newest free version of RealPlayer for Windows does in fact have the capability to convert and transfer your entire library to a portable device. (See link below.) As a side note: There has been rumors of Microsoft discontinuing Zune hardware but Microsoft claims that they are simply just not bringing out new models, will be continuing the current models, and will continue to incorporate Zune into Windows based mobile phones. Comments (10)check your service providers website most offer ring tones that you can select by your phone model and it will be sent by them directly to your phone and they will charge you a small fee to your phone bill one time for that ring tone. I did that years ago with one of my old phones that was not a smart phone I think it was 99c ....See MoreCell Phone Ringtones
Comments (16)Koda - you could Google "free ringtones" and I'm sure you'd come up with a bunch of sites. My phone is a Nokia 6126. It came with a bunch of ringtones, one of which is called "Jazzy Piano" -- and I like it, so that's my default ringtone. This phone can hold one of the MicroSD cards (and, of course, I have one). I can take the card out and put it in my card reader attached to my computer, and transfer ringtones (and photos, etc.) onto it just as if I were moving or copying files from one folder to another on the 'puter. Ringtones can also be sent to the phone via SMS messages, then saved to either the phone itself or to the MicroSD card. I can go onto the Web with the phone and get ringtones, too. I can, and have, created calling groups. One is called "Brothers" and my hubs' four brothers and their wives are in that group. The ringtone assigned to the group is Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits. I do not have a graphic assigned to that group -- yet. Another group is named "Heart" and the graphic is, of course, red hearts. The phone numbers assigned to this group are our two landlines at home, hubs' cell phone, and hubs' work phone. The ringtone is Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore sung by Il Divo. Ringtone for my older sister is Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty. Graphic is the Eiffel Tower ('cuz she speaks fluent French and loves Paris). Ringtone for my younger sister is Over the Rainbow sung by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. She's in LaLa land half the time... Ringtone for niece Elizabeth is Surfer Girl by the Beach Boys. She's more of a snowboarder than a wave surfer, but she surfs, too. :-) Ringtone for niece Maggie is Maggie May by Rod Stewart because (duh) her name is Maggie. Ringtone for nephew Daniel is Danny Boy sung by Elvis Presley because his name is (duh, again) Daniel. Ringtone for our friend Javier - Truckin' by the Grateful Dead, because he's a Deadhead and drives a truck. Ringtone for our friend Johnny - Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash because it's his favorite song. Graphic is a photo of Johnny. Ringtone for our friend Ken - Java by Al Hirt, because Ken is a professional trumpet player. Ringtone for my boss - La Copa De La Vida sung by Ricky Martin - just cuz I like the song and I like my boss. Ringtone for our friend Mike - Soul Man sung by the Blues Brothers, because Mike portrayed Jake Blues in Legends in Concert for many, many years. Other ringtones that I've put on the phone (that are yet to be assigned to specific people) include: Baba O'Riley by The Who (theme song for CSI New York) Desperado by the Eagles Dirty World by the Traveling Wilburys End of the Line by the Traveling Wilburys Handle with Care by the Traveling Wilburys Hotel California by the Eagles I Believe in You (Je Crois en Toi) by Il Divo with Celine Dion The Lion Sleeps Tonight by The Tokens My Music by Loggins and Messina Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani Tubthumping by Chumbawamba ("I get knocked down, but I get up again....") Tweeter and the Monkey Man by the Traveling Wilburys Unwell by Matchbox Twenty Who Are You by The Who (theme song for CSI)...See Moreacraftylady
