Tool bar question please

I am running windows 7. A few weeks ago, I somehow ended up with coupon alert stuff in the tool bar, while trying to get coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond. Now I don't know how to get rid of it, and go back to the old tool bar. I don't have the stuff that let's me open a new page, ect., anymore, and would like it back. If you can't help I will live with it, but hope some one can. HP laptop.

My suggestion would be to uninstall any and all toolbars you have. See if things return to normal/the way you want them. IMHO most toolbars are unneeded and don't really add anything of value. The lack of a toolbar has never prevented me from doing anything I wanted to do.

What browser are you using and which toolbar is the unwanted stuff on?

I have rather large shower, about 40" x 54" we are remodeling right now. The plumber is here and we've hit a snag and he doesn't know what to do so here I am. Problem is that one end has a valve and a fixed wall showerhead-fine BUT the other end has a Shower Head on a Bar and the bench is also on that side. He doesn't know where to put the shower "elbow" for the hand held shower and that bar also has a shelf so if we put it on the wall with the corner better bench 30" wide, I am going to have the hose hang down and hit my head on the glass shelf! It is this shower bar http://www.grohecatalog.com/product/28574/ and the better bench 30 that is 21.5 inches into the wall. He already put the new valve in off center to the left, just trying to figure out where to put the shower bar and elbow for the metal hose so he can finish plumbing. Any tips?

norton tool bar?

Well I have 3 Norton things showing on the top of IE so I guess I do have the tool bar enabled and one is identity safe and if I am not logged in when I click it I get the screen to log in like this. Then when I click it after logging in I can see sites listed I have stored passwords for and I can click options, edit logins and see every site. Only time I have to log in is if computer is rebooted or shut down and restarted. You can also click the norton icon on your desktop then click settings at the top then click web on the top and on the left you will then see identity safe to click. You can adjust settings for it in there and set a password up if you haven't done that. Hope this helps. Mary

The free utility is you. It depends on the browser. Try to move your mouse over a tool bar and then right click, sometimes doing that will display a choice of which toolbars to show or not show. On Firefox, click on View, then Toolbars. Post back if you're still working on it. There's no need to actually delete unused toolbars, they do no harm just sitting on your PC. I'm thinking you just want to customize what's visible and what's not?

For me that would primarily involve a jointer and surface planer to dimension the individual sticks, a bunch of heavy clamps long enough to span the whole width during glue ups, my finely tuned hand planes to level the surface and my sliding table saw to cut the ends off square after the last glue-up. An industrial manufacturer would have oversize/automated versions of similar equipment, except their hand plane would be a wide-belt sander. Oh, and a router to shape the corners. Methods of work vary, though; if your guy is a competent woodworker you shouldn't get too hung up on the specific tools. I'd hate for you to dismiss your guy's ability to handle the job because I, whose work you haven't seen, said you need sash clamps and you didn't know that the pipe clamps he turns out to have are functionally equivalent. If he knows what he's doing he should be able to tell you whether he's equipped for the job. If he's not sure himself, and is planning to wing this project, then he should be the one asking questions.

can you tell us what it says anything to go on, there are a ton of these nasty things. What browser is this happening to?

I knew I needed to include more info, just couldn't think what it was! Internet explorer, I think the most recent, maybe the one before that. I'll post a pic of the tool bar.

Azinoh, I have no clue how to do that. I have tried the Settings tab but it didn't do anything different, or make it go away. The second line is the one I want to get rid of, and have the Page tab back so I can open another page. The pic was taken with my phone. I hope it is clear enough to help.

Push the Alt key.. you will see the menu bar.
Click View.. Toolbars

Sorry, Mikie, pushing the alt key doesn't bring up the menu bar, no view to click...toolbars. I tired. Again.

click the webpage then push ALT key
Then normally in IE you should see a small skinny menu bar with the word 'File' hi-lighted starting on the left, just above the top left of the actual web page.

ok lets run malwarebytes updated full scan then superantispyware updated full scan, these pests often have elements that will be found and removed by these.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Win) - Detecting and Removing Malware

Download superantispyware free version

update both prior to running the full scan on each.
Please report back on what was found

this site has instructions with pictures on how to try to remove it manually, if the above 2 programs do not take care of it then you can try this but only follow the instructions on that page do NOT install or use any other programs that may be mentioned or suggested on that page.

Mikie's fix worked with the tutorial. Operator error! It helps when someone knows what they are doing, and I obviously don't!

I will also try Raven's fix Sunday or Monday, as it's way to late for me to even think about trying it now, and I will be out all day tomorrow. It certainly won't hurt to run Malwarebytes
