Akamai Download Manager

Hi, on my Windows XP computer I got an update notice from Secunia for 'Akamai Download Manager ActiveX Control 2.x'.

Is this program necessary, or would I be better off taking it off of my computer? There seems to be a lot of unsecure versions (?). The version on my computer right now is 2.2.5.0. Thanks.

get rid of it
most people dont need a download manager unless very slow connection doing lots of large downloads. Then they might have reconnect value is all.

Got it corrected. I had to delete the cashe on explorer/tools. I had already done that before but i had to be careful to then ask for one download and then immediately select use own browser. After that i could download one driver at a time.

Yep, erased the saved PW2 and tried to send an email, was offered a chance to inter PW1 and the transmission of the email went. Checking Options/security I don't find PW1 saved, I may need to click on "save password" on the next use. Thanks, this comphelp has been helpful as always.
