There is some good information here. I recently fell into the trap attempting to download a free version on Malwarebytes. I am one who likes to watch free movies on line & have had my share of getting into the wrong places.

thanks for posting that link! Bill P had written about this too. It is really becoming so prevalent it is almost impossible to try to direct the people we are helping to the proper link with out them ending up with some kind of junk we then have to try to remove.
I had several people that complained of this when trying to get malwarebytes, as their blog post mentions. That makes them look bad too because so many people don't understand how it happened.
Then we get questioned as to whether we sent them to a bad site.
Really a bad practice and it really is sad that sites like Cnet and download.com are going that route.
