Posted by paleblue (My Page) on

Been having problems with access to certain sites. I thought it may have had something to do with my Vipre
program. Eliminated that, and changed to Microsoft
Essentials. Am still getting notification re: certificate
error and cannot get to sites I need. Can you guide me?

thanks,

Are you using Firefox? It can be a sensitive as to certificates.

I don't recommend it, but the certificate monitoring can be turned off.

Tools>Options>Advanced>Encryption tab>Validation button>Uncheck "Use the Online Status Protocol......">OK.

Thank you so much. Yes, the date and time were incorrect.
When I corrected them, everything fell into place.
THANKS AGAIN.

Sounds like you might need a new battery on your motherboard. They typically last about 5 years. It sort of a large button/watch type battery that keeps you clock in time when your computer is turned off.

usually quiet easy to replace if desktop tower style computer. big silver coin battery. pretty cheap
