OK, I was able to create a POP account through the account settings instead. For some reason it wouldn't work the other way through Outlook.com. The new POP account seems to be working properly - ie. the incoming emails haven't disappeared, and they've been the inbox for a few hours now. So fingers crossed. Don't know if I should have a POP account in the day and age of IMAP accounts; but it clearly wouldn't work with one POP account as the server and the other as IMAP.

I have never resolved the problem, but have found a way that works for a period of time. I got a large dog crate. It's big enough to hold a litter box, a large cushion for him to sleep on, and bowls of food and water. When he acts out against one of my cats, I put him in the crate for a time out. At first I just left him in it for half a day. That didn't really help. I found that it's most helpful to leave him in the crate for at least 24 hours, and at times for longer, depending on how bad his behavior was on that particular occasion. The crate is in my basement which is below grade, so it's always in the 60s there. The isolation is what seems to be the key to this working. When I crate him, I don't go down to the basement except once or twice to clean the litter box. And when I do that, I make sure he understands that I am very angry with him by speaking harshly to him and telling him how bad he is. When he's out and starts to act out, I yell CRATE at him so that he begins to understand what's coming if he doesn't stop the behavior. I have left him crated for as long as two days. But when he comes out of the crate, his behavior changes for, sometimes weeks at a time. And I constantly praise and pet him when he starts his aggressive behavior and when yelling CRATE immediately stops it. Good luck, this has been ongoing for 5 years now, but this method has drastically improved things.

Here's an update on my problem - which is now half solved:) My ISP tech entered a command yesterday to save all mail to computer/machine only and that has resolved the sent mail issue. Emails are appearing as they should in the Sent file. Similar attempts did not correct the issue of deleted emails not showing in the delete/trash file. This morning I looked into Windows files and folders troubleshooter and installed a little program called FixIt - I have no idea how well this really works. FixIt reported a corrupt Delete file and a View setting that was 'lost or incorrect', asked if it could repair, I said Yes, and it prompted successfully accomplished. But nothing changed. Currently Sent folder is normal - and that's huge. As for Deleting items, if I click the X, the email leaves In or Sent boxes. It does not show up in Deleted items. If I use the Outlook search function to look for it, I can find it. If I click on Empty Deleted Item Folder and search again, its gone. I can drag mail from In and Sent boxes into the Deleted items at left and they do stay there then, and the number count increases appropriately with each dragged email.

Hi, You might try moving your sent messages to your ISP's Inbox and then mark them all as "unread." (Note: If you have a lot of email's in your sent folder, perhaps your ISP's web interface has something like Gmail's where you can select all emails in the folder at once. If not, in order to make it as easy as possible to move all sent messages to the Inbox, you could try having the message list in the Sent folder display as many messages per page as possible.) Then, once the emails are in the Inbox, use TB to to check your ISP's mail again and see if that works. (Btw, you might first want to move your mail in TB to some other storage folder. That way, if the above method works reasonably well for you, you will end up with only your "sent" mail in TB's inbox. You can then move that to TB's sent folder (I think) without worrying about it getting all mixed up with your received mail that's already there -- if you're concerned about that.) It might also be possible to set up your ISP's account as an IMAP account in TB. But it might be easier to try the above method first. If it doesn't work, setting up an IMAP account in TB would do it for you (assuming your ISP allows access the account that way). If you need to go this latter route, your ISP webmail may even have good instructions on setting up an IMAP account in TB. Also, if you use the IMAP method, you will want to move the mail from the IMAP folders in TB to another storage folder. Then you can delete the account without fear of losing the emails you downloaded. Does this help, or have I muddied the waters ? :-)
