I have an HP Pavilion with Windows Vista that was four years old in July. I want to go wireless--adding a laptop--but have been told my computer does not have wireless capability without adding a USB Wireless Adapter. I'm wondering if it would be better to just buy a new computer and simplify things. If so, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Wireless maybe you understand you need to have a wireless router, before a wireless usb adapter will work. Or a wireless laptop also will need the wireless router. USB wireless adapters on sale are sometimes 20 dollars or so.. but even a 100 dollar one wont work without something for it to connect to to access your modem/internet.

No need for a new computer if all you need is a wireless adaptor and/or router. I found a nice little USB adaptor online for $15, and it worked just fine in my 6 year old XP desktop.

Thanks for all your input; think I'll check further before spending more money than I need to.
