Luhe.HTML.Framer.A-How to get rid of irritating pop up

I kept gettting the pop up that said I had the above so I did an AVG scan and AVG put it in the isolation vault. I still got the message so I deleted AVG and checked for what was in the vault to go too. I downloaded AVG again (free addition). Now the vault shows nothing but I'm still having the popup every few minutes. Is there a way I can get rid of it?

Clean out your temporary internet files and temp files.

Download TFC by OldTimer click Here to your desktop. Click the Save file tab, save it to the desktop. Then double click it to run it.

Double-clickTFC.exe to run it.

Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator

TFC will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin

* Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process.
* Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two.
* Please let TFC run uninterrupted until it is finished.

Once TFC is finished it should restart your computer. If it does not, please manually restart the computer yourself to ensure a complete cleaning.

Thanks for your reply. I went off line for a couple hours and when I came back on the pop up didn't show again. Hopefully that's the end of it.

That's interesting that you don't get them on your iPad sunnibel. If you look at the bottom of this screen you will see 'Learn more about in-text links on this page here'. What you see is certain words within posts in a different colour and if you are unfortunate enough to hover your cursor near them an ad fills the middle of the screen making it impossible to continue reading the post until you click the x to close it. Even then often clicking the x makes it continue and you have to click again elsewhere to really get rid of it. For example a post about garden 'clean' up will cause an ad about a floor polish to fill your screen. They have annoyed plenty of other people. Here is a link that might be useful: In text ads.

the very best way to get rid of all of them including the new inline ads GW warned about putting on recently is to use firefox browser with the adblock plus add on and the easylist subscription, it blocks them all, I see no ads anywhere. Firefox Adblock Plus 1.1.3 once you have that then go to the easylist page below, go to the 2 yellow lines for easylist and easyprivacy to the right where it says add to ABP click there and it will be added to your adblock plus and you will be all done EasyList and it is a very good idea to have at least 2 browsers on every pc in case something should happen to your IE browser.

You can probably do a web search and find many ways. Think I would try first an edit of my HOSTS file and add; 127.0.0.1 download.macromedia.com Then everything will ignore that address.

"I've uninstalled chromium and other programs on my computer but they keep coming back." A legit Chromium installation will not do that. Perhaps a rouge copy of Chromium came bundled with another piece of software? I suspect most Windows users choose Google Chrome over Chromium. (Just a guess) Chromium is perfectly legit but only if you deliberately installed it. But if it came bundled with another piece of software and just showed up unexpected, it's probably not. If you do think you may have a bad copy of Chromium, there's detailed removal instructions on bleepingcomputer.com It of course includes Malwarebytes, but also a few other malware removal tools in what might be called a shotgun approach. Is each step necessary? I don't know but it's so comprehensive it should . There's a similar question concerning Bing search engine here: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5729293/bing-search-engine#n=12 It's probably unrelated to your issue but if you read through it you'll see how a screenshot can sometimes save misunderstanding. I'm not hinting. ;)

You should not be relying entirely on AVG, an anti virus program, to protect your computer. I hope you are also running something like Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), Malwarebytes, SUPERAntispyware, Spybot Search and Destroy or a similar program for added safety.

All those listed above except MSE need manual updating and running and should be done every so often depending on your comfort level. MSE is fully automatic.
