Windows Vista Recovery is a fake computer analysis and optimization program that displays fake information in order to scare you into believing that there is an issue with your computer. Windows Vista Recovery is installed via Trojans that display false error messages and security warnings on the infected computer. These messages will state that there is something wrong with your computer's hard drive and then suggests that you download and install a program that can fix the problem. When you click on of these alerts, Windows Vista Recovery will automatically be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Once installed, Windows Vista Recovery will be configured to start automatically when you login to Windows. Once started, it will display numerous error messages when you attempt to launch programs or delete files. Windows Vista Recovery will then prompt you to scan your computer, which will then find a variety of errors that it states it cannot fix until you purchase the program. When you use the so-called defragment tool it will state that it needs to run in Safe Mode and then show a fake Safe Mode background that pretends to defrag your computer. As this program is a scam do not be scared into purchasing the program when you see its alerts. To further make it seem like your computer is not operating correctly, Windows Vista Recovery will also make it so that certain folders on your computer display no contents. When opening these folders, such as C:\Windows\System32\ or various drive letters, instead of seeing the normal list of files it will instead display a different folder's contents or make it appear as if the folder is empty. This is done to make it seem like there is corruption on your hard drive that is causing your files to not be displayed. You should follow the instructions in the link provided.. "Usually" would be the key word here. It seems there was a glitch in the process. Only some of the folders were lost. DH never touched them, nor did he delete any of the messages in them. He only deleted inbox messages that had been uploaded to the phone. I have pasted the reply I received from Yahoo: Thank you for contacting Yahoo! Mail. I understand that you want to recover the lost emails that were accidentally deleted on your POP/IMAP client. I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Let me provide you more information regarding your concern. Please read on. According to our records, it appears a POP or IMAP client may have deleted your messages. A POP Client is an application such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, while an IMAP client is a mobile device such as a BlackBerry, or iPhone. Emails deleted by a POP client are now moved to the Trash folder on the server. As long as the emails were deleted recently, you should be able to access your Yahoo! Mail account from a web browser and recover the messages from the Trash. You can configure your POP client to leave messages on the Yahoo! Mail server or to delete them from the server. We don't "dirty" things, therefore cleaning is a snap.... We do many of the same things EmmaR does. -I have eliminated all subscriptions so we don't have magazines and newspapers to contend with. I put books I'm reading in a certain place when I'm done reading, or if I'm working on a knitting project it gets put back in the knitting bag and placed in the closet. The desk in the kitchen is cleared of "stuff" after use (that's what the drawers are for). Hubby usually has a brief case of work to go through each evening, but when he's done it's back in his brief case and that's placed in the same place each day so he doesn't forget it when he leaves for work. -I deal with the mail when I bring it into the house and put the bills to be paid in the desk (I usually go ahead and pay them and put the envelop with the out-going mail) and place the recycling in the recycling basket. -There is a handy basket in the kitchen where we place things we recycle, and it gets taken out and divided in the garage as needed. -We keep a nice decorative basket next to the stairs going to the basement. If we have something that needs to go to the basement, it gets placed in the basket. Whoever goes to the basement the next time takes the item/s in the basket and puts them where they belong. -When we go to bed at night we take a quick run through the living area. Pillows are put back in their place. Throws are folded and put away. Dishes put in the kitchen. -We make the bed as soon as the last person has gotten up. -The last person out of the bathroom sanitizes the sink area and makes sure everything is in it's place, takes anything that needs to go to the laundry room there and hangs it on the rack if it's wet, or if it's dry puts it in the proper basket (we have a 4-basket system so the clothes are already separated). And you wipe up any wet spots each time after washing hands. -Shoes/slippers are put back where they are stored, not smelling up the entrance of the home. Same goes for coats/jackets. They get hung up in the closet not tossed on the closest piece of furniture or hung on the back of a chair. It's just making a good habit instead of fostering a bad habit. -Dishes that don't go into the dishwasher and after meal clean-up is done after each meal. Sometimes all I need is a large plastic bowl filled with water heated in my electric kettle to get it done - no sense wasting a whole sink of water. It takes us about 5-10 minutes to do dishes. The kitchen floor is swept after the last meal of the day (or as needed if I'm making a mess baking/cooking) and the trash from the rest of the house is added to the kitchen trash and it's taken out daily. -I vacuum all floors Monday and Wednesday, and Friday is cleaning day for the whole house. If there is a project or task that is best done with two people, we'll do it on Saturday when hubby is home from work. -If you "did it", then undo it kind of action ASAP. Example: I got the stepstool out to get something off of a high shelf, so when the task was done I put the stepstool back where it belongs. -If you used the last of something, replace or refill it. The "maid" is YOU! -Cleaning equipment is one-size-fits-all. Foster a do-it-now attitude and avoid good intentions...;-) -Grainlady

Good to hear maybee. If the file is still there on the old pc, then you can move it over for sure. Easiest way is to se a usb themb drive. Copy the file to the usb drive and then move the thumb drive to your new pc and then copy it to the new pc. Alternatively, if the file is small enough, email it to yourself and save it on the new PC. last note here, if you dont already have a backup storage drive, definitely look at getting one. You can keep it simple and use an external usb drive that you can store in another location such as a safe or safety deposit box. Just plug it in peridocally to take a backup. Or, have your installer add another hard drive to your desktop to have it used only to backup data. This way, if your current pc or hardware goes to crap, you have your backed up data that you can get with little effort. Either item is relatively inexpensive and very cheap insurance.
