Completing a form that is a PDF

Is there a Free download that will enable a user to complete a form that is a PDF? I seem to remember having some sort of PDF converter (free) that did that, but I can't see it in my programs now.

Rather than using the risky CNet website, I'd recommend downloading PDF Exchange-Viewer directly from their own site...

Lycopus, I am a novice. It did help give me a starting point and the methodology was needed. I know you are spot-on when you give advice. I have tried different growing situations and can say your advice to others is very friendly and correct. I am learning. Growing moss is a hobby and selling it once supported my hobbies. I just like the stuff. I am not a botanist by any means but can say I share their attraction to the field. Included a facebook link to picture of my label I hope to use again. I came across a book about growing Moss. It is in PDF form. I entered into a live chat with Taxcut. They said TC could be used w/o pdf995. I removed Pdf995 and PdfEdit995 from my computer. I ran thru a preliminary tax prep. I was able to print forms "for" and "not for" filing. I was able to modify the forms ie change input. Conclusion; Pdf995 was merely a Gift from Taxcut. Thankyou thankyou Taxcut, benefactor of all mankind. How would I ever fill in an otherwise dull existence w/o these projects? With each update the Pdf995 gets re-installed (and offed). Instead of scanning the form as a .pdf, scan it as a .rtf (RICH TEXT FORMAT). You should be able to select this under SCAN DOCUMENT SETTINGS. Then open the .rtf file with your word processor and edit as needed. After editing, save it as a .doc if you wish and then print-fax-email as needed or you can convert to .pdf if needed by using a free online pdf converter.

I have used CNET for many yrs. and still do never had a problem. When doing any downloads read, and opt out of any addons.

CNET is owned by CBS. It's a completely legit site, but it allows its customers to bundle unrequested and often unwanted other types of software to accompany a requested download.

I agree with both preceding comments, you can pick up hitchhikers and setting changes you might not want if you're not careful. (That can happen with many straight downloads too. Apple tries to take over your PC when you download Itunes). You can also avoid any undesired outcomes if you click carefully and opt out of most choices you're given.

Is it a static form? Is there a feild for you type into, or just a line, as if someone scanned a document?

I use Foxit Reader. If I needed to fill out such a document I'd choose the typewriter tool (Comments>Typewriter>Typewriter). Click where you want to type, then type. It can then be printed. If you need it in electronic format, there are "virtual printers" that will output it as a PDF again, with your changes. I use one called doPDF. All free software.

I was under the impression that a .PDF file needed to "created" as a form to be used as a form. Or do one of these programs allow changing the actual structure of the document?

If you just want to "fill in the blanks" Acrobat reader will do that. Just click on "comment" in the upper right portion of the screen and a number of editing tools are available.
