Thoughts Of Going Back To Dial Up Internet Service?

Hello everyone. I've had Charter for years. The price has gone up from less than $100 a month to over $165 with no real change in services. That's $2000 a year which is a big chunk out of retirement income. Presently I get the following: TV level 2 (can't remember what it's called); home phone (local and long distance); and high speed internet (only provider and only speed available where I live).

I realize many may not think the price is bad compared to a norm. But, I'm retired and have been for years and years. My first computer was in February, 1990. I've been thinking of giving up all Charter services. I remember how dial up was. In more recent years I've heard trying to give up cable internet is very difficult.

I've finally gotten around to reading a little on the Net about 2014 dial up services. I'll appreciate any opinions on dial up and especially from those who might have given up cable service and returned to dial up.

Thanks for everyone's time. Regards, Gene
