Here's the banana bread recipe and I use the method I mentioned for cooling my bread. Sour Cream Banana Bread 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup oil 2 eggs 1 cup mashed bananas (2 medium) 1/2 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon vanilla 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour bottom only of a 9 X 5 loaf pan. In large bowl, beat together sugar and oil. Add eggs, bananas, sour cream and vanilla, blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Add flour, baking soda and salt, stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator. Makes 1 loaf _______ ***Here's my tip for any fruit breads I make, and been doing this for ages: Remove from pan, let set on cooling rack for about 5 minutes. In a storage conatiner, that one loaf fits in, line wax paper from bottom to sides. Place loaf in the container and seal tightly with lid and leave overnight. Makes for a super moist bread, even though the bread is most already. It's what I do and always will for my pumpkin bread, sour cream banana bread, strawberry bread, etc

Typically, I find that people under/overwater. Under/over feed their plants. Reading your post where you declare it's the roots but yet you find no evidence of rot caught my attention. The reality of plant culture is there is a complicated morass of disease that mimic one another. Then add to the mix the complication of fertilization, irrigation, soil management and I think you'll agree a lot is going on and can be as confusing all at once. So, here's what I do. Strive for consistency. If you water at 10AM, do it at that time each time you water. Feed according to label directions, but, if you elect to go early, do it the same time, every time. Flowering plants in general love sunshine. Recognize the generality and act accordingly. Don't be afraid to prep your soil prior to planting. Amend as needed. Perform a soil test. Don't guess. Lastly, if you think you might have over fed your plants, drench them with water to flush away the soluble materials. It's easier if you used a water soluble fertilizer.

You say it produces a red flower; a picture of the flower would be a great help when trying to identify it. Also if you could say what size the pots are as that would give us an accurate estimation of size. Furthermore, do the edges of the leaves have spines or are they smooth? These are all necessary bits of the jig-saw when trying to ID your plant. All the best, Nev.

The mosquitoes can hatch in the smallest bits of water so when you have acres and acres of soy beans or corn all the little crevices between the stalk and the leaves collect rainwater, a perfect environment for larvae and we have had nothing but rain all of August and now into September. I have a bee suit and hat/net and never thought of using it for mosquitoes . I don't use it for bees anymore as I had to give up bee keeping due to all the chemicals the farmers use on the crops around here . Killed my bees year after year . Kept at it by replacing bees every year five years in a rrow but just not worth it . We know it is the chemicals the farmers use because one of the big beekeepers around here lost over 1/2 his hives every year for a number of years. Then he started transporting them north where they don'f farm and his hives actually increased. As for wearing the suit and hat to avoid mosquitoes . It is too much "stuff" to put on and too hot and claustrophobic to try to use for weeding especially when I am out there for hours at a time . I am the mosquito magnet here . They don't seem to like my hubby but I can be out for 10 minutes and have as many bites . I really don't react well to their little bit of venom or whatever it is they spit into you . I swell up and itch for days. Last resort is spraying myself with Deep Woods Off , gross stuff and no doubt toxic but not sure which is worse , the bites or the stinky poison I have to put on myself to ward off those hungry little buggars .
