Neil, I'll try to get you some seeds. Often our storms steal the seeds in the wind or break the stems on these because they're so tall, but I should be able to get some with a little effort. I hate seed saving, get lazy. It's not that I don't know how, it's just something I avoid. Though some of my prettiest mutts have come from my own harvested seeds, sometimes I get some butt ugly things too. And I always bring bugs into the house on the seeds. One year I had more assassin bugs in here than dust particles. (My husband asked what are these weird bugs and where are they coming from? My dining room was covered with drying flowers for seeds. Duh! He really is intelligent, has a high IQ, wouldn't you THINK he could have guessed? I didn't admit to anything... ) Karen

I would head over to the 'starting from seed forum' A few comments/tips. Direct sow Peas Like said above it is a little late for leeks, rosemary and parsley, but you can give it a shot. Flowers, except for the poppy, can all be started inside if you want, otherwise you can direct sow them. I don't want to burst your bubble, but you will get few to no veggies if planted under Maples. Maples have VERY shallow root systems and will eat up all the water and nutrients before you plants have a chance. They also make VERY dense shade. Veggies need full, intense light to thrive and part shade to hobble along through the season. Jiffy pots/pellets are terrible, the roots can not grow through the netting and peat holds water. Too much water = dampening off disease. If you are determined to use them. Make sure you remove the netting before you plant them outside. This will rip off the tips of the roots, but it should bounce back. Un-germinated seeds need a dome only. As soon as they break the surface of the soil (germinate), the dome must be removed. If a sunny window is all you have for light the plants will be leggy, they won't die but they will be scrawny. Most of us prefer shoplights 12-16 hours a day 1-3" away from the seedlings. I hate to be Debbie downer, but how late the season is and the shade you are dealing with will frustrate you in the long run. Any flower that reseeds itself should be planted in the ground, not a pot if you want it to come back next year. Ohh.. Oregano.. be sure you plant it in a container. This plant will take over your beds.. you just can't kill it. I hope that helps and be sure to stop over in the 'Growing from seed' forum Keriann~

Middle of the third week of renovation and the tiling is nearly finished. They are doing beautiful work and I'm very impressed with the care they are taking. Vents had to be moved. Walls taken down, total reworking of the electric, adding additional lines for a second sink, moved the toilet to the left a few inches so it would line up with the center of the window, moved the shower drain .... I could go on with the list. Four township inspections just to get to the tiling stage! They're working 6 days a week. I'm very pleased with the selections I've made with the tile, granite, and other finishes. Last thing I'm trying to nail down is a window treatment. No rush there.

Kinda a weird thing to advertise, shower door???, in order to just string someone along, or play games? I could see that ad being on there aong time with little/no response. But then maybe I am all wet & there is is booming demand for this sort of thing? Regardless, it seems very weird... Fake address & removing the ad...
