I went back to version 8. I did not recover the old screen composition but did regain the speed I lost with version 9. I use a lot of 3 tier screens on bookmarks. The screens used to be smaller but now they are so big that when the third tier screen pops up it flips back to the left side overlaying the first tier screen. Both screens being white on white makes for a split second look to see where the starting point is. A nuisance and unnecessary change in my book. Thanks for the link. It worked perfectly.

I imported my post from another thread. FF12 beta 1 was released around March 16, 2012, followed by five more betas. The most recent beta 6 around April 18, 2012. A supposed final was released around April 22, 2012. I have read that there is some user confusion as to it being an actual final version, or just a RC (release candidate). I have also read some reported concerns regarding stability of this final/RC version. I myself am waiting for a clarification and a popular position on the release. As always, with any application a user must use caution when exploring betas and RCs. DA

The current version of any application should be used whenever possible. FF v6.0 was released a couple of days ago. The only problem a user might have is add-on compatability. There is always some lag time and some never upgrade themselves. Since all your preferences, add-ons, and bookmarks are kept in a folder other than the application folder it is safe to install v6.0 for personal testing. If you do not like the upgrade or find too many of your add-ons ar not compatible you can just delete it and revert back to a prior version with a new install. I did it when v5.0 was released as I reverted to v4.1 without a concern. DA
